The Wizards and Suns have discussed a trade that would send Amare Stoudemire and the 14th overall pick to Washington for Nick Young or Javaris Crittenton, salary fodder and the 5th overall pick. Two people familiar with the talks confirmed the report.

Phoenix also requested Caron Butler, which forced the Wizards to walk away.
Wiz are asmart to walk away from this one.

If they could find a way to make the trade without Butler itd be highway robbery. No one outside of MAYBE the top 3 will ever come close to being as good as Amare is. Getting Amare and trading Jamison would do wonders in getting WAS out of basketball purgatory. They have a really talented team with pieces that dont fit. I think you get Amare with a healthy backcourt and your team takes off because hes a power big and a guy that can impose his will on the game unlike Jamison.

I agree, but if i'm the Suns i don't do any trade with Washington without Caron being included.

I think the #5 and Jamison for Amare, possibly with the #14, is more logical

Phx is pretty fucked, they've played this Amare thing wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy worse than we have with Bosh. At this point it's almost a lock he's going to bolt them, so his value sucks. Meanwhile BC has been masterful saying we're fine keeping Bosh and are in no dire position to trade him which gives us a lot more leverage. Phoenix's situation is lot closer to us with VC, they're effed.

I think the #5/Jamison for Amare or Tyrus Thomas and expirings or Deng for Amare is the best deal Phx will get...
