Default The Win to make Allstar team is absolute BS

Well, not absolute BS, but its getting ridiculous.

The Van Gundy Jackson convo during the Lakers Spurs confirmed it.

Them picking guys like KENDRICK PERKINS and ANDERSON VARAJAO over CHRIS Bosh for AS game because their teams are better? Are you kidding me?

The NBA makes the AS game for the fans exclusively really with them picking the starters, so why should the backups be determined by a completely different perspective? Should the coaches listen to this BS and put ROLE PLAYERS in an ALLSTAR game because their teams are better than ALLSTAR guys whose teams dont have such a record but theyre playing like top level players?

If Bosh was in Varajaos place the Cavs would be under 5 losses right now.

Why should Bosh be penalized for being on a bad team? Same with guys like Granger and Durant whose games have reached new levels and fans WANT to see them and they DESERVE to be there?

Theres a certain line between guys statpadding and just being good because theyre on bad teams and guys who are playing fantastic but team isnt good. Players shouldnt be penalized for it, and ESPECIALLY there shouldnt be role guys in the fucking game who are on great teams who arent allstar guys. The logic is disgusting.

Soon enough Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins will be starting for the Eastern team and Fisher and Bynum for the West with the logic that has been brought up the last couple of weeks.

Am I out of my mind with this or do you people agree that Mo Williams should be in the allstar game over Devin Harris(less extreme case) and Varajao over Bosh(most extreme case)?

I agree. The all-star game should be a celebration of talent, not a reward for winning - that's what championships and MVPs are for.

Yeah TNT went into it too but I didnt hear a lot of it, all I heard was GP saying Bosh didnt deserve to get in. Same thinking though, its fucking stupid.

I always thought players themselves should vote, and pick the reserves, i mean they should know best by playing vs ppl who is the toughest.

That way is skewed too because some PGs may feel Iverson is the toughest to stop, but its about how guys play this year and not in years past.

It should be up to the coaches to pick the entire lineups IMO because theyve seen every team and most of their votes wont be biased unless they used to coach for another team. The same main guys will be picked like KG, Wade, Kobe Lebron etc. but the guys who have worked their asses off to become top level players like the Harris Durants and Grangers will make it in also. Have it based off of performance and impact(even if it may not result in wins) and you'll have a better allstar game.

The thought process and process itself needs to change, or soon Bruce Bowen and Yi will be in the starting lineups because of the fan voting, and the role players of winning teams will be coming off the bench the new stupid win or you cant get in bullshit.
