Thunder Why isn't Mo Peterson playing?

Poor Mo, why won't they just tell him that he stopped being an effective player off the bench about 3 years ago.

Quote:
The Oklahoma City Thunder has struggled so much shooting the ball from beyond the arc this season that it has almost become impossible to not ask why the team's most efficient career 3-point shooter is stuck on the bench. And when San Antonio marches into town and drills 11-for-20 3-pointers, as it did in its 117-104 win Sunday night, it only highlights the Thunder's paltry perimeter play.

At least for now, the answer to this year's question is the same as it's been in each of the last two seasons. Thunder coach Scott Brooks can't play everyone.

“There's not a lot of minutes to play guys,” Brooks said when asked about Peterson. “It just is what it is.”

Quote:
“My main focus is to just be ready when that opportunity comes,” Peterson said. “I can't control when I'm out there on the floor or if I get out there on the floor or not. But I do want to play. And I'm going to work hard to do whatever I can to show them that I can help this team … It's a long year, so I know different guys are going to be counted on at different times of the year.”

Both Cook and Peterson can get hot in a hurry. Cook is the better catch-and-shoot player, which is extremely important in the Thunder's drive-and-kick offense and with Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant drawing so much attention. But Peterson is better at creating his own shot. Neither will show up on the scouting report as bulldog defenders.

Peterson insists he can adapt to any role.

“All my career I've been a guy that's been known to knock down shots when I get in,” Peterson said. “I play basketball. Whether you come off the bench or get starter's minutes, you've got to go out there and produce.”

If I had to choose between Cook and Peterson, I'd choose Cook at this stage in their careers.

I think the bigger question here is why Harden is not playing better. He should be the regular rotation player (6th man?) who helps fill the bucket from the perimeter. He has not played well at all this year. Maybe there's an injury I'm not aware of.

Always thought Mo was overrated... seemed to be popular for all those ridiculous circus shots. Not surprising to hear that he isn't a defensive stopper (as he was advertised to be here, lol).

Vince always tried to push him to be the second scorer on the team, but he really wasn't athletic enough or talented enough.... Great NCAA tourney showing though!

i always hated him too. I remember when the raps drafted him i was excited because many mock drafts at the time had him labled athletic. What a load of shit that turned out to be!

Can you get herpes from serving a sandwich to or receiving money from someone who's infected?

I had no idea he played for OKC. I guess every roster does have a blemish.

A Buckeye beating out a former Michigan State player. Seems right to me.

What's wrong with Mo Pete? He's had a decent career and is 33 yrs old. He was never overpaid and had some good moments. Checked the stats and they were solid in Toronto.

Maybe he's too old to play in OKC's system.

Well, it all boils down to what kinda sandwich we're talkin' about and how much money he gave you. Is that all it takes to win Benzo over? lol

As a side note, I love how he kissed the floor when he came back, fuckin awesome, I was at that game. If Bosh were smart he'd put his head between his legs and try to kiss his own ass. lol..
