Hm, cheering fans welcome back their team in the airport?..
It's one of the biggest clichés in sports...

It's called showing support. We all know the Thunder are going nowhere but up in this league. I doubt this is happening to the Lakers, Celtics or Spurs.

If KD or Westbrook ever leave this city it would be a disgrace. The only exception would be if they have no championships by their 30's.

Wow... That's all you have to say? Real cynical man. Those guys played there hearts out and had a great season. It was nice of those fans to show them support after a tough loss in a great series. If we, as Toronto fans, were lucky enough to have a team of their caliber you could bet your ass that we would be doing the same thing. After all the complaining that goes on around this board about the lack of effort and toughness in Raptorland, its a little bit catty to act as if the Thunder fans are 'cliched' for being appreciative of there guys.

But OP, there's a big difference between the OKC fans cheering for the Thunder at the airport after a great season, and expecting the Toronto fans to do the same after a 22 win season.

Exactly.

When were we supposed to cheer anyways? It's not like they came back from a game in another city, they've all been chilling in different places since April. Were we supposed to give them a round of applause on an awful season after they got beat by Miami's bench warmers? LOL

Man, do you even know what you talking about?
Who is cynical? I am cynical? I just said its cliché. It's always nice to see, but come on, I saw that many times. Wheres the big deal? Thats what great fans do... I am not cynical here.

PS. And i agree about 22 game season. Thats a little different. Raptors did nothing great, Thunder deserved cheering. Thats why I am not impressed...

No city can compare with the loyalty and intensity of OKC fans

Yeah they inherited a young team on the rise and have had one of the more exciting, fun teams to watch since they arrived to their city. Must be nice. lol

I'm not surprised there were fans at the airport. I've been to OKC for work, there's nothing to do in that city (except eat some good BBQ). The only fun thing thing that happened while I was there was when one of our customers gave us his season's tickets for the Spurs/Thunder game (that and seeing some of the New York Knicks in my hotel).

I'm still bitter because they took the team from Seattle.
