Question What type of player is more valuable to an NBA roster?

Been doing a lot of thinking about the choices but I wanna hear other thoughts before I decide.

Hmm... if i have to choose i guess versatile forward... i assume this means Jeff Green, T-Prince, Marion, Kirilenko etc type? A guy who plays good defense, can score a bit, can handle a bit, can shoot, can pass, etc. Every good team needs one of those.

Hardest question ever, I'm going to skip the voting. You need all kinds of players, one player doesn't change anything unless it is Lebron

I think the original post needs more information provided..... maybe an example of your ideal of each, otherwise everyone might as well just pick Jose so Jeff has something to complain about. Also, what about the stretch four?

1) Combo guard = Nate Robinson
2) Versatile forward = LeBron
3) Jose Calderon

Choose!

Versatile Forward. I define versatile as being able to guard multiple positions. With the versatile forward you can be succesful going small ball - you can also throw the larger forward defender on an opposing guard to cool him down.

Had you said John Lucas as the combo guard, it would have been an easy choice.... but I'd hate myself to choose Nate over Jose, though Lebron just doesn't fit my definition of versatile, his acting sucks. What's his motivation?

the question off the top is just way too vague. the way i see it, a versatile forward is a guy like lebron, carmelo, durant. on the other hand my view of combo guards is they're just guys stuck somewhere in between PG and SG and aren't "great" at anything valued at either position.

so right away i'm like, yeah, the forward.
