Default What to do with Kobe

Kobe's not done, but is heading downward on his career arc.

Being that these are the Lakers, and they are not likely to put up with a drop to averageness while the the Clippers are on their way up, I think it's time Kobe became the 1B with another 1A on that team. And I don't think it's Bynum.

In other words, it would be the next guy to build a team around as Kobe fades away, but could help them to continue to contend for a championship now.
But who's out there that might be a good fit? Deron W.?

if you missed it Kobe played his heart out that series, and did pretty damn well. It really was his supporting cast that sunk him this time.

It's not like he's Vince Carter, but I don't think it gets better for Kobe from here on out without another stud.

Funny threads go up about Kobe and the Lakers downtime after getting booted out of the 2nd round. I wish the Raptors had these problems.

Why should we all be worried about the Lakers. We all know they are going to trade for a dam good player and do a quick rebuild and get a little better. They'll be back on top next year or max 4 years.

I have no tears for them

Problem is you have to convince another team to give you a superstar for Bynum or Gasol. Bryant is still good, but can't carry a team like he used to and makes mind boggling (and cap crippling) amounts for the next few seasons. They have no choice but to try and trade a 32 year old who Kobe just finished trashing and destroying the value of or hope Bynum for Dwight still happens.

They need to trade Metta World Peace, Steve Blake, Ebanks and Gasol for an asshole like Kevin Love so that it's easier for me to detest the Lakers.

Lakers are the only team that can afford him. He's half of a team's salary cap.

Kobe tolerates less than most coaches do in terms of what is done, and not done on the court. Calderon and Bargnani would be basket cases.

I dont think scoring the amount of points close to the amount of shots taken is doing pretty damn well, scoing 40 pts on 32 shots isnt great at all

Kobe would mentally break Barnagni within the first practice.

he shot 18/33. that's roughly 55 percent shooting. for a shooting guard, and taking that many shots, who is constantly double teamed, I'd say those are some incredible numbers. not to mention the five rebounds and 2 steals
