Default WC PLAYOFFS; ROUND 1: (7) SA SPURS defeat the (2) DAL MAVS 4-2

DAL WON SEASON SERIES 3-1

STARTERS:

DAL

Jason Kidd
Caron Butler
Shawn Marion
Dirk Nowitzki
Erick Dampier

SAS

George Hill
Manu Ginobili
Richard Jefferson
Tim Duncan
Antonio McDyess

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

DAL

Jason Terry
Rodrigue Beaubois
Brendan Haywood

SAS

Tony Parker
Roger Mason JR
Dajuan Blair

Key Matchups:

Matching up against Dirk. This is the biggest key to the series. Duncan and McDyess cant come close to guarding him, so I'm guessing they're gonna crossmatch, with Duncan on Marion and Jefferson on Dirk. It'll be very interesting to see what kinds of defences Pop throws at him, I expect there to be some double teams if Jefferson cant check him.

Tony Parker. Hes the key for the Spurs winning the series. Usually its Ginobili, but now its roles reversed in this playoffs with Ginobili coming in guns blazing and TP the one coming back from injury. TP has had a history of scorching the Mavs, its gotta happen for the Spurs to have a shot.

Duncan and Butler. Both need to step up for their respective teams. Butler needs to be a consistant 15 ppg+ guy this postseason and provide scoring in the 4th when Dirks getting attention, and Duncan needs to dominate the post again for the Spurs to stay close.

PREDICTION:

This is the best matchup so far out of all the playoff series. I can totally see this going 7 games especially if Ginobili keeps tearing it up and TP is above average. Mavs in 7.

honestly who ever wins this series is going straight to the WCF, can both teams turn back the clock and make this one hell of a series?

Mavs in six, they have a matchup for every one of the Spurs key players save for maybe Tony Parker. He'll be coming back rusty from injury though and I don't see him posing too much of a problem.

Mavs vs. Lakers in the WCF.

George Hill has played amazing and TP hasnt been in the starting lineup since coming back from injury. He may not get back in the starting lineup, who know with Pop.

Spurs have lot of experience and if Ginobli plays well no telling what could happen. But that being said, I still think Mavs in 5.
