Default WC PLAYOFFS; ROUND 1: (1) LA LAKERS defeat the (8) OKC THUNDER 4-2

LAL WON SEASON SERIES 3-1 (2 OF THEM BEING EXTREMELY CLOSE GAMES)

STARTERS:

LAL

Derek Fisher
Kobe Bryant
Ron Artest
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum(POSSIBLY OUT)

OKC

Russell Westbrook
Thabo Sefolosha
Kevin Durant
Jeff Green
Nenad Krstic

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

LAL

Jordan Farmar
Shannon Brown
Lamar Odom

OKC

James Harden
Serge Ibaka
Nick Collison

Key Matchups:

OKCs running game vs LALs size- OKC does play a physical brand of defence but they're overpowered and theres a big height disadvantage in the frontcourt. If OKC wants to stay close they have to continue to play their style and force turnovers and get a lot of runouts.

Russell Westbrook vs LALs PGs- If OKC wants to be close in every game, Westbrook basically has to go buckwild on the Lakers shitty defensive PGs. Hes got to limit his turnovers and attack the basket with control.

4th qtr scoring, Durant vs Kobe- Durant has struggled recently in 4th qtrs, and with LA having the leagues best closer, KD is going to have to find a way to score or find open teammates in the halfcourt vs a ton of coverage coming his way in crunchtime. This is where I think OKC is going to show their inexperience, although they may keep it close throughout the game, when it comes down to crunchtime and guys are playing that much harder on D I think theyll lose their poise like they have recently.

PREDICTION:

LAL in 5. I do hope OKC takes both at home though to set up a sick game 5, but with their lack of outside shooting and big mismatch in the post its hard to see them winning more than 1 game.

Somehow this series reminds me a bit of that epic upset the nuggets pulled out against the sonics in 1994. While the Thunder lacks a definitive inside presence that Denver had, I think they have that young, up-tempo, energetic bounce to them that makes them more dangerous than most people acknowledge.
Granted the Denver/Seattle series was only five games, I still think this series has the potential to go seven, and with durant, ride his hot hand all the way into the second round. that's of course if Artest doesn't find a way into his head.

this is good matchup. Dont know, LA hasn't played well of late, i dont know how much of that will carry over to playoffs. I think they really miss the athleticism of trevor ariza from a year ago.
This might go all the way to game 7. West conf is gonna be good to watch

LA's been playing poorly but they've got a maximum of seven games to figure their shit out and get on track. I think they will. LA gets back in rhythm and takes this series in five.

On a side note we should get some polls on these threads.

I think Thunder can win this too. They have a really good team. IN the west playoffs anyone can beat anyone. Seeding really play almost no factor other then more home games

Matchup is set. And OKC I think matches up pretty well with the Lakers.

I think OKC is not gonna be intimidated AT ALL like some previous playoff matchups against the Lakers.

I think they're gona come out confident, hungry, with energy, and Russell Westbrook is gonna steal the show.

Hope thunder but think LA in 5. Imo it about Westbrook which is an upsidedown player if he plays well who knows (given that Durant averages 30ppg). Ibaka is a beast
