Default WC PLAYOFFS RD 3 : (2)SA SPURS vs (5) MEM GRIZZLIES

STARTERS:

SAS

Tony Parker
Danny Green
Kawhi Leonard
Tim Duncan
Tiago Splitter

MEM

Mike Conley
Tony Allen
Tayshaun Prince
Zach Randolph
Marc Gasol

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

SAS

Gary Neal
Manu Ginobili
Boris Diaw

MEM

Jerryd Bayless
Quincy Pondexter
Darrell Arthur

Key Matchups:

I think this series comes down to size against speed and coaching. I think coach Pop will be the first coach in the Grizzlies playoff run to throw multiple double teams at Gasol/Randolph every game, and it'll be up to those two to make quicker moves, and find the open man. Even if they throw the double teams at them though, the Grizzlies halfcourt offence is good enough to get open shots, and despite their lack of shooting in the startng lineup, their good shots often lead to offensive rebounds so even with the double teams, the Spurs need to finish the possession. And on the other side of the ball, will the Grizzlies be able to slow down Tony Parker? CP3 tore them up, but will they employ the same strategy with Parker in making him a scorer only and cutting off the 3 point line as they did against LAC? Will the Spurs be able to find a way to combat that since the 3 point game is a huge part of their offence? I suspect Hollins will put Tony Allen on Danny Green to start to frustrate him and kill his 3 point game, and then on Manu once he comes in to shut him off. There's so many variables in this series, and it's the toughest series to call so far since the teams are so different. Should be the best series yet. Ultimately, I think MEM is playing better basketball than SAS currently, and they're going to advance because of their defence and rebounding. Either way, I hope whoever wins this series kills Miami in the Finals.

PREDICTION:

MEM in 6.

I hate the Spurs. I hate them because they are so composed, so experienced, so confident and so darn good.. I hate them because they killed Curry, when it was time to kill Curry. I hate them because the 70 year old big dude still plays like an all star, and I hate them because they still manage to win when Tony goes 3 of 16..

I do think Memphis will take in 7 tho..

I think the Spurs and the Griz have more chance to beat the Heatles than anyone else. So I would be happy with either moving the the finals!

+1 to that remark. Both teams have size and excellent coaching. Whoever's left standing after this matchup can certainly take punishment

I went with he Spurs in 7. Could be 6 if Parker continues to look fresh. He's back in a groove now, and that means a lot to this team.

I think its clear after 6 minutes of this game that if Tony Allen is on the court he needs to be guarding Parker. Why else have him on there when his best attribute is individual defence? He doesnt impact the game enough guarding Green.

Memphis sort of struggling to generate offense. I'm surprised they haven't iso'd Randolph on the post yet.

The fact that Boris Diaw is fat actually helps the Spurs in this series.
