Default WC PLAYOFFS RD 2 : (2)SA SPURS vs (6) GS WARRIORS

STARTERS:

SAS

Tony Parker
Danny Green
Kawhi Leonard
Tim Duncan
Tiago Splitter

GSW(unconfirmed)

Stephen Curry
Klay Thompson
Harrison Barnes
Carl Landry
Andrew Bogut

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

SAS

Gary Neal
Manu Ginobili
Matt Bonner

GSW

Jarrett Jack
Draymond Green

Key Matchups:

As many have already stated, GSW wont be able to get away with the stupid mistakes they made against DEN when playing the Spurs. Due to Pop's genius, it's going to take GSW playing near perfect basketball to beat them, and Mark Jackson is going to have to either go small and GSW play frenetically and hope to not get killed on the boards, or Carl Landry and Andrew Bogut are going to need to play a lot of minutes together and be extremely effective inside. SAS will look to trap screen rolls, so the roll man for GSW, likely Landry or Bogut, will need to make the right decisions when open at the top of the key. I don't think GSW has enough to beat SAS unless their bigs play out of their minds, or Curry and Thompson somehow get free for most of the series against a team who's coach is probably the best in the league at gameplanning against the 3 point shot. The last series, with Lee out it actually was better for them overall, but this is a series where they desperately need him to open up the floor for their guards. It just looks like a bad matchup for GSW.

PREDICTION:

SAS in 5

the future is super bright in GSW, but they aren't ready yet. That was evidenced by a ton of sloppy play in big moments in the Denver series, and particularly horrible mistakes in the fourth quarter of last night's game.

Agree with BDL, GSW wins game three at home, but the Spurs win this series in a cake walk.

One thing I forgot to mention though is GSW COULD potentially matchup well with Parker and Duncan, with Thompson and Bogut. The last few series SAS has lost has been in large part due to the other team putting a long rangy defender on TP, and Thompson could give him some problems as he's a very good, very underrated defender. And the main question with Bogut will be is he capable of playing 30+ mpg every game to matchup with Duncan?

Although those matchups dont look too bad for GSW individually, they suck at guarding the pick and roll so my last paragraph may just go out the window because Bogut plays way too far back as shown vs Lawson last series. If they do go with the above matchups though, I dont know who they're going to put on Manu since Curry is too small, and Barnes isn't smart enough yet to slow down Manu. Maybe Draymond Green but I dont think he's got the footspeed. Manu could be very key this series.

I think that's the hottest I've ever seen a player get from the perimeter. Everyone needs to watch that 3rd quarter. He literally scored like 8 straight possessions.

Curry is dangerous. Can't believe he didn't make the all-star team.

Jarrett Jack leading the Spurs back. This guy is trying to take over while his teammate has 40 and 10. Jesus.

Knicks fans would've left this game at the 6 minute mark. These Spurs fans know better. Looks like they're having fun.
