Default WC PLAYOFFS; RD 1: OKC WINS (4) OKC THUNDER - 4 VS (5) DEN NUGGETS -1

STARTERS:

OKC

Russell Westbrook
Thabo Sefolosha
Kevin Durant
Serge Ibaka
Kendrick Perkins

DEN

Ty Lawson
Aaron Afflalo(questionable)
Danilo Gallinari
Kenyon Martin
Nene

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

OKC

Eric Maynor
James Harden
Daequan Cook
Nick Collison
Nazr Mohammed

DEN

Raymond Felton
JR Smith
Wilson Chandler
Al Harrington
Chris Anderson

Key Matchups:

Guarding Kevin Durant- DEN hasnt been able to figure this one out yet and its likely to continue. Gallo has had some success in the past guarding other SFs but in all the games Ive seen him guard KD, KD has always lit him up bigtime. DENs best option is to put Chandler on him and shadow him everywhere. If KD gets Nene into foul trouble then DEN is in BIG trouble.

The benches- Maybe the 2 deepest benches in the NBA. Most of the times theres luls in the 2nd qtrs in the playoffs, I doubt therell be for these 2 teams. The biggest matchup is Harden vs Smith, I expect Harden to be more consistant, but if JR can have a couple of breakout games then DEN will have a shot in the series as they almost always win when he goes off.

Size advantage- OKC has the advantage here, and the reason why is Perkins is one of the only guys in the NBA that can slow down and frustrate Nene. Nene has been WAY under par the last 2 games vs OKC thanks to Perkins frustrating him and forcing him in to tough shots. I'll take OKCs 4 bigs over DENs 10/10 times.

PG advantage- The only real shot DEN has in this series is if they hit a ridiculous amount of threes, and/or Westbrook goes into selfish mode. Westbrook went in to selfish mode their last game in DEN and almost cost them the game doing so, trying to match Ty Lawsons scores. He needs to maintain his composure and play like he has been 90% of the time this season. Lawson and Felton are the key for DEN really to win the series, as they need to be the creators and really break OKCs defence down. If they can get it going in the first couple of games and OKC has problems with them it could be a long series.

PREDICTION:

OKC in 5. OKC matches up very well with DEN and they've won the last 2 games convincingly vs DEN. OKC is really meshing well at the right time, and although DEN is hot as well, they just cant guard Durant, and OKC can guard them effectively in the halfcourt as shown in their most recent 2 games vs one another. Their only advantage on offence is in the pick and rolls vs Westbrook as hes regressed defensively this year, but I dont think that will be enough.

I think I'm leaning towards cheering for the smurfs. They've really been growing on me. OKC just hasn't been the same team this season. The defensive intensity isn't there.

I think it's safe to say the Nuggets are better without Melo.

The total sum of what they received for Melo fits better and really makes them a lot deeper and more balanced.

The only question that needs to be answered for them is which player is the small forward of the future: Gallo or Chandler?

This is by far the most entertaining game of the playoffs. It's just back and forth, absolutely no defense! haha I love it.

Was that good or bad call where the ball was on the cylinder? Could they have reviewed that play?

That was a terrible call, blatant goaltending. I don't think they could review it.
