Default WC PLAYOFFS RD 1 : (3)LA LAKERS vs (6)DEN NUGGETS

STARTERS:

LAL

Ramon Sessions
Kobe Bryant
Matt Barnes
Pau Gasol
Andrew Bynum

DEN

Ty Lawson
Aaron Afflalo
Danilo Gallinari
Kenneth Faried
Kosta Koufos

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

LAL

Steve Blake
Devin Ebanks
Jordan Hill

DEN

Andre Miller
Corey Brewer
Al Harrington
Timofey Mozgov
Javale Mcgee

Key Matchups:

Contrary to popular belief, I think DEN has a legit shot to win this series. A much better shot than the other bottom seeds anyway.

They have two HUGE advantages in their favor:

1. Coaching
2. Their bench

If George Karl can somehow find a way to limit Gasol and Bynum from completely anhilating them in the paint, all of the games should be close, and they may be able to wear down the Lakers especially in the 2nd and 4th quarters with LA's lack of depth. The starters are going to be playing big minutes, so if Sessions doesnt play well, and or Kobe chucks, the Lakers could be in trouble without World Peace and having Barnes solidify their bench

So really, the keys to this series are size vs speed, and how well DEN's bench plays, because with the way the Lakers play defence, DENs starting lineup should struggle to score with 2 non scorers in the frontcourt.

PREDICTION:

LA in 6. If this doesnt go at least 6 then George Karl is doing something wrong as DEN has a lot going for them this series with the Lakers being so thin.

I love the way Gallinari plays. Even on defense, he tries very hard and on offense he can do everything. He much more athletic that people give him credit for and can finish around the rim really well. Now only if he could stay healthy for a full year.

That's exactly what I'm thinking.

Btw, Bynum with the triple double is very impressive!

Bynum tied the NBA record for blocked shots in the playoffs. Hakeem got 10 blocks in 1990.

Gallinari can deffinately turn into the "go to" guy Denver apparently doesn't have. Love his game.

He doesnt have a defined off the dribble or post game. Great 3rd option? Sure. But go to guy? Doubt itll ever happen.

DEN better not get complacent in the 2nd half and let LAs bigs take over. If I'm Karl I'd start Mcgee in the 2nd half and going forward. Hes been the main reason why theyve been able to maintain the lead, and hes their best shot at slowing down Bynum and the Lakers from abusing the paint.

I'll be shocked if Mozgov starts in the 2nd half.

McGee is impressive as an energy guy. As long as he doesn't get caught up in creating his own shot.

Gallo is the worst supposed to be shooter I've ever seen. He's a lot more like Gerald Wallace than he is Peja Stojakovic. The guy cant hit shots consistantly from the perimeter.
