WC PLAYOFFS RD 1 : (1)SA SPURS vs (8)UTA JAZZ

STARTERS:

SAS

Tony Parker
Danny Green
Kawhi Leonard
DeJuan Blair(Possibly Splitter)
Tim Duncan

UTA

Devin Harris
Gordon Hayward
Demarre Carroll
Paul Millsap
Al Jefferson

KEY ROTATION PLAYERS:

SAS

Gary Neal
Manu Ginobili
Stephen Jackson
Boris Diaw
Tiago Splitter
Matt Bonner

UTA

Jamaal Tinsley
Alec Burks
Josh Howard
Derrick Favors
Enes Kanter

Key Matchups:

Someone posted a stat saying that the Jazz with the Jefferson/Millsap frontline vs SAS has never won a game. Not good.

In what I've seen from Harris this year, he hasn't guarded PGs well at all, which is SAS' primary offence for a good chunk of the games with their pick and rolls.

Duncan being able to slow down Jefferson with his size is also huge since the Jazz go to him often.

I expect Blair to start because he matches up well with Millsap with his quickness and bulk.

To be honest, the only matchup the Jazz have in their favor is Favors off of the bench. No one will be able to match up with him inside, so if he can get offensive rebounds and pound the Spurs inside, thats when the Jazz may be able to get back in the ballgame(2nd and 4th qtrs). Though the Spurs bench is so deep it may not even matter.

PREDICTION:

SAS in 4. The Jazz may get game 3 if they just play harder and the crowd gets in to it, but even then the matchups seem to be so much in SAS' favor they shouldnt really lose a game.

Go Spurs Go

the utah jazz frontcourt isn't there yet, not enough experience. i would've loved steve nash in the playoffs to go against the spurs, the dude always makes it exciting despite the talent level of his team being unreasonably low.

spurs are going to blow the jazz up.

although....... if there was one team i'd pick to be the dark horse and surprise the hell out of everyone this year (there is always one), id pick utah. but common sense says, they have no chance whatsoever.

I would think Denver would be the better surprise selection.
the LA/Denver series, if it happens, is going to be high scoring

Twitter recently told me (can't recall who and don't have access to the stats) that the Spurs lineups with Bonner on the floor absolutely destroyed the Jazz this season. Small sample size but interesting.

Jazz also have only used their "big" line-up with Favors, Milsap, Jefferson for 15 minutes across the season series. I thought it was an interesting line-up when used against the Suns in their last game. Though the Suns team that played that game could have made a lot of line-ups look good.

Not likely.

Ya. I guess I won't hold my breath. I thought he was more of a scorer than he is. Kanter didn't have much of an impact on this game. It looks like Utah could use Kyle Lowry.

Spurs looked scary good
