Unhappy Wayman Tisdale dies at 44

Former NBA player and 3 time All-American Wayman tisdale has passed away at the age of 44 after a two year battle with cancer. He averaged 15.3PPG for his career and helped team USA win a gold medal in the 1984 Olympics. He still holds the Oaklahoma school scoring record with 2,661 and rebounding record with 1,048. Life after basketball, Tisdale became an award winning jazz musician and last month was voted into the National collegiate basketball hall of fame.

Really sad.

That's crazy. I didn't know he was sick again. I recently watched a feature on him that showed how he had to have his leg amputated and how his music pulled him through the hard times.
Steve Alford had nothing but nice things to say about him in his book "Playing for Knight", after having played with Tisdale on the 1984 US Olympic team.
How unfortunate and sad.

Wow! He had an amazing attitude. It's also so tough on the people who love him to lose someone that young and full of life.

I thought they'd managed to stop the spread of the cancer when they amputated his leg, but i guess not.

I don't remember him growing up, but from all accounts he seemed like a genuinely nice guy. RIP.

That's horrible ..... he was great role player too and as well was apparently a pretty good jazz musician as well.
