Magic Vince Carter wants to coach after he retires

Quote:
Vince Carter can envision himself coaching when his playing career is over.

"I don't see myself going right to the NBA. I don't care where high school, college, pros," Carter said. "I really enjoy teaching the game."

Good for him.

I'm sure he had a lot to offer as a teacher of the game.

Vince Carter would make a great coach. Don't know too many other players who helped take a 16-66 team to 47-35 in three years, or who hold the single season scoring record for not one, but two teams. Not to mention how to be a wonderful person in the community starting multiple charitable foundations, donating $2 million to your ex-high school, etc., not bragging about your accomplishments (haven't ever seen him brag), speaking proper English as opposed to ebonics, etc.

Even with the Nets you could always see him with the younger players pointing to spots on the court telling them where they should be in certain plays, etc. Coach Frank last year even talked about how he became a wonderful leader/mentor after Kidd left.

Naw, he'll be a coach if that's what he wants to do. And he'll do a good job. He's been a great mentor for the younger Nets players the past couple years, both on and off the court.

maybe a team can benifit from his 'stop, drop and roll' defensive strategy!

How could he ever critique his players for quitting without seeming like a hypocrite?
