Varejao Out For Season With Torn Ankle Tendon

Big blow for the team... Would of been 1000% worse overall if it was exactly 1year ago eh?...

Varejao Out For Season With Torn Ankle Tendon

The Cavaliers will be without Anderson Varejao for the remainder of the season.

Varejao has a torn ankle tendon that will require surgery.

"It's a big blow," coach Byron Scott said. "Arguably, he's been our best player."

Varejao suffered the injury while running in practice on Thursday as the Cavaliers prepared for a five-game road trip.

He underwent a second MRI on Sunday that revealed "a complete tear of the peroneus longus in the midfoot of the right ankle and foot."

Nope. I believe they've won 8 games. We currently have 13 wins and if we didn't win another game we'd still finish with more wins then them. I heard this weekend that they lost 19 of 21 games.

well that's what happens when Anderson Verajao is your best player. Even without him going down, that first overall pick was probably theirs to lose.

Varejao has no business being the best player on any team in the NBA.

Very true. I still can't believe some here thought they'd be better then us this season. We're not a good team, but we have more young talent then they do and more depth.

Varejao is not their best player. He is crowd favorite player and face of the team, but not best player. Cavs lost 10 in a road now, terrible season.

Worst record guarantees top-4 pick, but there is only 25% that you get first pick. it means, 75% that you not gonna get it...

Oh I would say he's their best player. It isn't Mo williams, boobie, Hickson, or any of our ex players. Jamison....maybe but he's old. Jamison is easily their best player now for sure.

Jamison looked awful a month ago, but now he looks good, averaging about 19 points per game. Yeah, he is their best player. Then Mo.
But Varejao, despite his contract, had biggest trade value. Now he is injured so I don't know. The only bright spot I see, is draft picks, J.J. and Eyenga.

Yeah, I think this is the year that the clear cut worst team in the league actually "wins" the #1. Stern probably feels obligated to compensate the Cavs for losing Lebron.

They're doing a great job tanking for that #1 pick! Even though its not tanking they just suck.

Cavaliers have nothing to look forward to. #1 pick can't do miracles. They still have lots of work to do for years to come.

Huh? If anything, their last #1 pick proved that one man can be the difference between the best record in the league and the worst. Not quite a miracle, but a heck of an impact. That being said, there's no Lebron in this year's class.
