Right on, man..commends. We definately deserve a second chance. The support was always essentially there, despite the team's mismanagement. And the popularity of basketball in BC has exploded due to the impact of the Grizz, Nash... leading to immense support at the high school/collegiate level. A team could definately thrive here. I just moved right downtown; nine years too late I guess..fml...Nonetheless, I hope to see it back sooner rather than later.

I really do wish Van City would be re-awarded a franchise, but I don't think Stern wants to go back there.

+1

I see a franchise going back to seattle, Vegas getting a franchise and other U.S markets being tested before anyone ever considers Vancouver again.

I don't know, I can see a certain 2 time MVP lobbying for a club here. And since Stern has a secret sexual affinity for Nash - who doesn't - it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility. Nash is involved with the Vancouver's soccer team, so he has that entrepenurial spirit. Obviously wouldn't be until sometime down the road, but who knows?

Nash isn't gonna get a team in Vancouver.

Jeff, I have a question... since you are all knowing, omni present, and have an absurd post count.. are you god?.. for real?. .I think you may be, considering how often your statements appear radically narrow minded.

OK, it's my opinion that there is no way the city of Vancouver will ever get another NBA team and that Nash being from Vancouver doesn't mean anything in that reguard. It's an opinion, and with you being from Vancouver i'm not surprised you'd think otherwise.

But do you really believe there is any chance that a Canadian City would ever get a second chance from an American dominated league? Really? If so i believe you're being unrealistic and a little delusional.

Is it delusional that he would target an area that has one of the largest Chinese populations?

Is it delusional that he would target an area that has a growing fan base and now has the infrastructure to support an NBA team?

If Toronto has long term success, I wouldn't put it past the NBA at looking at Vancouver again or another NBA team thinking of moving there.

I agree. I don't think Vancouver has a chance at seeing a team any time soon.

I think you're more likely to see contraction than expansion. Even if you do see expansion: Vegas and Seattle would be higher up than vancouver I think.

Think about how much trouble Toronto has getting players, Vancouver would have a HELL of a time. Even though I think Van is a nicer city, lots of NBA type won't know that.

Well, only time will tell. Let's put it this way, if it ever happens it's a very long way off imo. There are a few American markets that would be far ahead of Vancouver. Has any Canadian city ever had a second chance in any sport, shit even Hockey? I guess you can say Ottawa, but how long did that take.....and that's hockey.

Why did New Orleans, Charlotte, Minnesota, Chicago and Philadelphia get second chances at NBA franchises? How many times have the Royals/Kings relocated? Who is to say in 10 years someone won't buy the Grizzlies and seek to relocate them to Vancouver? The demographics are there. There's also a lot of people south of the border that feel the NBA should've never left Vancouver. Unlikely yes, but not entirely out of the realm of possibilty.

And best of luck with your efforts Pistol Pete. As lang mentioned, he's sent you a message.

sure...and to touch on that how many people would have really beleived that an NBA team was going to move to Oklahoma City of all places if you asked them 19 years ago. Let alone moving the sonics there. People would have thought never in a million years.

sports teams relocate all the time. It's really very possible given the support the Grizzlies had in spite of their horrid management.

People talk about how Bosh doesn't want to re-up in Toronto. Well, think about how tough a time Oklahoma City is going to have with Durant. There's literally NOTHING to do in OKC. Nothing. I can't see it staying too long there.

In a few years im for sure going to invest to who ever is running the opportunity to start a franchise there. It's probaly going to be pocket change but its something at least.
