Bucks Ukic goes back to europe to join Fenerbahce

This isn't the least bit shocking, he'd be hard pressed to get another NBA contract + playing time.

Via RealGm bucks board:

Quote:
According to this source (a rather reliable Turkish basketball site),
Roko will sign with Fenerbahce Ülker Istanbul. Fenerbahce has Bulls draftee Ömer Asik, Cavs draftee Emir Preldzic, former NBA players Gordan Giricek, Lynn Greer, Tarence Kinsey (and Mirsad Turkcan if anyone can remember). Greer is injured and Will Solomon (Raptors last year) has left the team because of the coach (Bogdan Tanjevic, a Serbian coaching legend). The article says Fenerbahce has contacted Roko via Giricek who is a fellow Croation national player and teammate of Ukic.

Ukic Fenerbahçe'ye mi?

heehee.

I think it's funny, because so many on this board opposed me, and the other dudes on here that thought he was terrible.

And he was terrible.

And is terrible.

And you will NEVER, EVER, hear his name again in North America.

HA!

How can you deride NBA clubs for seeing the potential in Ukic?...He's a PG with great size, decent quicks and athleticism...He was labeled as the next Jason Williams before the 05 draft and was at one point expected to be in the lottery, before falling into the 2nd round..He oozed potential, unfortunately he was unable to condense the entire package consistantly..If he shores up his J, I wouldn't be surprised to see him back..Then again, some guys just prefer the scene in Europe.

He's clumsy, awkward, unatheletic, can't shoot and has very little basketball IQ. As for him prefering the "scene in Europe"...........bullshit, the NBA doesn't want him otherwise he'd stay here in a heartbeat.

As for the next Jason Williams?

I agree, he definitely had potential. He had a little to much confidence for his own good though, I don't think he came down the court and thought that giving the ball to another player was a better option than him trying to penetrate.

Believe it or not, that's who he was compared to..Not a fair gague now, but I think he's still a serviceable dude -he schooled his former team just a month ago. Basketball IQ isn't tangible, and calling a guy who plays/ed in the most athletic league in the galaxy who is capable of breaking people down off the dribble and finishing in the lane, clumsy and athletic is unfounded. He is a great athlete for a 6'5 PG. Everyone can appear clumsy at times in this league, and young Pg's are prone to error.

And can you confidently say no one would rather play in Europe as opposed to the NBA? Do you occupy these guys' minds to know precisely what they are thinking? I would rather play in Turkey than Milwaukee. I believe Fenebache is located in Istanbul, one of the most beautiful cities in the world..and than you have Milwaukee on the other hand, which is best known for a serial killer..Hmmmm...

He's shooting 46.7% FG in limited minutes. He'd probably get more minutes had it not been for B Jennings emergence.

Milwaukee doesn't want him. The guy would stay in Milwaukee if he wasn't the 3rd PG on a shit team playing garbage time if at all most nights.
