Mavericks Tyson Chandler thinks he might be done in Dallas?

Quote:
Free agent Mavericks center Tyson Chandler fears that the new NBA collective bargaining agreement could limit Dallas from re-signing him. "With the collective bargaining agreement and some of the things that they're trying to enforce, it would basically prohibit me from coming back," Chandler told KESN-FM FM in Dallas. "It would take it out of my hands -- and the organization's -- because it would almost be pretty much impossible for me to re-sign. I just think that can be the worst thing that can happen." "For years, the Lakers have been able to win championships and re-sign their players and keep them there so they can go out for another title," Chandler said. "Now, to put that deal in place after we win ours, I don't like it one bit." In a propose labor deal, there would be a more punitive luxury tax for teams who spend over the salary cap. The Mavericks have traditionally spent more than the salary cap. They were hit for a luxury tax reportedly around $20 million this past season.

That's easy to fix, Tyson. Take a pay cut.

He'd be a solid C for the next five years to help mentor and change our lackluster defensive identity. Everybody is so quick to label a guy done.... it's ridiculous sometimes.

I never once said he was done, he'd be a starting center on many teams. That's the problem. He would be too good to be coming off the bench for the next 5 years obviously. I swear he's only 30. He wouldn't want this situation, and he wouldn't even come here for that one year I guess then lol. I wouldn't mind a Deandre Jordan or something. Can start, can easily come off the bench.

+1 boss, but didn't mean to imply you had said that..... though I guess the one year thing caught me and given how long it can take on development, it wouldn't hurt Jonas to ride shotgun for a couple years.... starting isn't everything, and I think practice time is just as important for young bigs as playing time. Deandre Jordan could help, but also we probably need that coin to upgrade our perimeter too.... hope Alabi can come through on the cheap....
