Spurs Tracy McGrady announces retirement

Quote:
Tracy McGrady has announced his retirement from the NBA.

McGrady played last season in China before returning to the NBA for a playoff run with the San Antonio Spurs. McGrady played sparingly for the Spurs.

McGrady was drafted in the lottery by the Toronto Raptors in 1997 and became one of the NBA's best players after signing with the Orlando Magic in free agency in 2000. McGrady was later traded to the Houston Rockets where he and Yao Ming made one of the most formidable inside/outside combinations in the league, but their careers were slowed by injury.

They both wish this as well. As they get older and more retired, they will look back realize that leaving Toronto was the beginning of the end.

And before anyone starts spewing numbers and stats, I am talking on a personal level.

He was my favourite player ever. Even though he should have retire a few years ago, today I was really shocked as I knew this... well, I wish nothing but the best for him hoping to see him again on espn or else

There are a handful of players that have set records and haven't made the hall. McGrady is a bum and he dug his own grave, let him lay in it. Boom.

If you ever find one, make sure you pack a whole lot of extra common sense because that's the only way.

mcgrady wanted his own team, that's what it really came down to, he didn't like being the second guy on a team, especially to vince

And he looks back at DWade with Lebron and Shaq and feels like a dumbass. McGrady could have been that 2nd banana All NBA Defense and great scorer - could have been Scotty Pippen.

Jesus, what's with all the Tracy hate?

He was an incredible player who was the second best shooting guard in the league for a long time and was even better than Kobe at times.

He "dug his own grave"? You mean got hit directly and indirectly by injuries causing him to never have a decent supporting cast through his entire prime?

Tracy was a fantastic talent. I hold no ill will towards him and it was a pleasure to watch him play when he could still go 100%.

Sorry. But TMac wasted his talent. I suspect heavy weed use and not great training. He made decisions for himself first. Team second.
Sure he put up great numbers at times and was great to watch in his prime (that ended when he was 22ish) . He did that with the talent god gave him.

TMac is getting the MJ treatment. Now that he is gone, he was a legend.

MJ was a efed up pedophile and TMac is a me-first waste of talent.
