Why don't we just go all out and sign Yao Ming to a one year deal. If anything, it guarentees MLSE makes money from all the TV ratings over in China.

That would be interesting, but if we are going to make a move for an injury-prone player, it should be Oden (assuming he joins FA class). At least he's still young and has a shot of turning his career around.

yup, that would actually be a smart business move and possibily a good basketball move.
also, the Raptors could get some chinese endorsement deals. i notice Calderon already sports the Li Ning shoes....LOL

that money would go to the league and be equally distributed throughout the league

More Chinese companies would pay for sponsorships with the team though

Dalembert will never be anything above average, Hump is already a double-double guy.

Hump is no where near the defensive player Dalembert is and if he stopped being a douche more teams will want him. I expect him to turn up in Miami.

1. Nene (UFA)
2. David West (UFA) I highly doubt West signs anywhere but New Orleans.
3. Tyson Chandler (UFA) No way in hell Dallas lets their defensive anchor leave now.
4. Marc Gasol (R) Same goes for Memphis AND he's restricted anyways.
5. Kris Humphries (UFA)
6. Jamal Crawford (UFA)
7. Greg Oden (R)
8. J.R. Smith (UFA)
9. Yao Ming (UFA) Yao has said he won't play for any team but the Rockets.
10. DeAndre Jordan (R) Clippers will match any offer.

So only half of these players are likely available and I'd say Greg Oden will still get a qualifying offer too.

smart guy you are....

The Portland Trail Blazers have notified the management team of Greg Oden that they will extend the qualifying offer to him. Oden will become a restricted free agent.

If Oden does not sign a free agent contract, he will play the 11-12 season under a one-year, $8.8 million deal.

Dallas might not be able to afford Chandler when a hard cap is implemented (63MIL already commited), Gasol is gonna get a big offer from someone (us being one team) and Memphis might not match it, If Oden gets extended that massive QO the Blazers deserve what they get, Who cares about Yao, he's done.

Dallas has two they need big time, Chandler (the anchor to their defense) and Butler who will provide the team their second scoring option. I would take either, Chandler first though. How do you know about Gasol and the Raps making a big time offer?

I don't, but i'm guessing he might be someone we would go after, but someone will make a big offer to him and it'll be up to Memphis to match it. As for Dallas, Butler is as good as gone imo. Chandler they'd like to re-sign but with 63Mil already commited to 10 players.....good luck to them once there's a hard cap.

M Gasol should be number 1 on that list, and DeAndre Jordan has much higher value than Kris Humphries in the long run. Humphries isnt a starter on most teams in the league.

Would love Gasol but I like the speed and intensity of Chandler. I totally agree about Kris.

Would think Butler would be good on the Raps but in the end we need a C more.
