kwame has to be #1 because the position he plays and his lack of avging at least 1 block a game/season.

and it shouldnt matter who was picked after the bust... that shouldnt be a factor when deciding if a specific player is a bust. its the player that did poorly, it shouldnt matter how well someone who was picked after him did.

injuries shouldnt make a player a bust either... thats out of their control.
I agree, except for a few injury cases. Odens issues were VERY well known, as were Morrisons. Taken a risk on them makes them a bust.

No idea why Darko is up that high, he is turning into a pretty decent player.

I don't see how Hoffa makes the top ten. That's just being a self-pitying homer. There are plenty of Hoffas out there, and plenty that fared worse over the entirety of the league's history.

Oden is just a child. His bones will heal. The Blazers will win some championships. Ya'll just wait and see.

Bowie gave us a handful of good games, he wasn't a complete bust. Micheal Jordan was incredible, but the NBA cheated and made sure the Bulls won lots of games.

Ed O'bannon
Big Country Bryant Reeves
Greg Oden sofar
Adam Morrison
michael olowokandi

but if you Wikipedia these guys, you will see that allot of them had injuries that messed up their carreers

the only reason why these guys are busts really because the media over hypes certain players to much...

Well the players picked afterwards kind of tell about the quality of the draft. Usually these bust lists are composed of top picks, that didnt make it to stardom. No one is putting guys who were picked 10+ overall as top busts. But then you got a different talent level in each draft. A lot of guys that get picked in top five in a weak draft wouldnt have made it to top 10 in more talent crowded years.

And often the bust term is reference to a guy that was picked too high. E.g. Darko hasnt been that bad (after all he is still playing major minutes in the league), but was drafted before some allstars, making him a bad choice at the spot, but not necessarily a total failure as a player.

its brutal for some players, gm's and scouts fall in love with guys who work out good not actually on the floor

also being drafted to the right team who runs the right offense, team chemistry and coaches, a ton of factors that control the fate of hte player, usually the good ones can over come anything but the high risk guys live and die on these factors,

i hate when a euro comes to play in the nba everyone says they need 3 or 4 years to develop, well thats majority of the nba, there only a select few that come in the elague and dominate

Morrison and Kwame would top my list right now.

I have a hard time believing that Brown would have lasted more than 3 years in the league if he hadn't been a #1 pick.

Olowokandi was disappointing but he actually had a couple of decent years with the Clips.... In 01/02 he avgd 11 & 9 with 1.8 blks/gm... and the following year he avgd 12 & 9 with 2.2 blks/gm. Not bad....

i'd like to remove shawn bradley from the list. seriously, is he on this because of all the poster dunks on him? for everyone of those posters, one could be made with him blocking their asses. he was scrawny and awkward, but the dude knew how to change shots.
