As much as I would love that, Stern is a pro-american city guy and would probably send some cash into that franchise to keep it alive.

But honestly, bring vancouver a team.

Michael Heisley who was the owner of that grizzlies at that time wanted to move the Grizzlies up to Memphis. Because after 5 horrible losing seasons the grizzlies finished the worst in the NBA the team wasn't getting enough support from the fans supposedly and financially this is what put the team in debt. However, I don't think that was the reason. I'd say the main reasons were signing "Big Country" Bryant Reeves to a crazy 65mil extension. After the signing he played one decent season then he got injured and pretty much never played a game again. Also we drafted Steve Francis however he refused to play for us and we had to trade him for a couple of scrubs from Houston.

Man, that would be transcendental. Just as they are beginning to turn things around too. Vancouver is pretty much Madrid when compared to Minnesota, so maybe that enhances the chance of retaining Rubio long term. But, I'm aware it's just a pipe dream..dang..

Minny could be in serious trouble because they're still like 3-4 years away from the playoffs and it's already been 5 years since they've been there. They're going to end up with a 8-10 year drought like what Atlanta had, and in a city who doesn't really have any basketball history unlike Indiana, Milwaukee, Atlanta, etc., it'll be hard to justify staying. You can't miss the playoffs for 10 years in a competitive market with 4 major sports teams, and put your fans through shit like the Rubio/Flynn disaster, and expect it'll all be ok.
