Default Timberwolves Intend To Sign Rubio Within A Month

Quote:
A Timberwolves contigent led by David Kahn are spending the next week in Spain for this weekend's Euroleague Final Four and to continue work they intend will get Ricky Rubio signed to a NBA contract within a month.

Rubio's Regal Barcelona team never made it to the Final Four scheduled for his hometown this year because it got beat out by Greece's Panathinaikos team in a playoff series in March.

Rubio has a $1 million buyout with Regal Barcelona.

By NBA rules, the Wolves can contribute only $500,000 to such a buyout.

I don't think he will leave Barcellona this year, with the lockout looming.

His game shape was poor, especially his scoring, but he is always one of the most exiting players to watch. Youtube can make Jan Vesely look line an all-star, but youtube can't make Rubio look better, it just shows what he is. You can take one Ricky game and made a mix, he is great. He can average 2 ppg, but he still makes his team better.
He, DDD and Milos are still 3 best PGs in Europe.

Do you even imagine how Euro ball works? And what is Euroleague?
by the way, Brandon Jennings were inconsistent bench player... Parker was a great player, he is 36 now, and he is still starting... And his numbers in Europe was pretty the same as in Toronto (14,6,3). So what do you expected, 32 year old superstar who has no NBA experience?
Scouts cares nothing about how successful player was there in Europe, they look at his actual game. Rubio is not that guy, who taking MVP's in EUrope... 6 ppg 3 reb. 3 asi.
But he has great skills to succeed in the NBA.

possible scenario. May end up even worse.
Big concern... it looks he doesnt improved at all in the past 2 years, even regressed. But then you think, he is still just a 20 years old, and he is probably first 20 year old - big impact player in Barcelona after Pau Gasol. Still a possible big star.

Parker was Euroleague finals MVP. But it's one game. Course he and Jasikevicius were superstars stars there, thats no question. But it was his prime, Parker came back to NBA being 31 already, but he was still good.
talking about the same Jasikevicius, he helped Parker a lot too. He was offensive genius. And what TOR had, T.J. Ford, Dixon and rookie Jose...
