Thunder Season Tickets Sell Out In Five Days

Quote:

OKLAHOMA CITY -- Season tickets for Oklahoma City's new NBA franchise have sold out in just five days.

Chairman Clay Bennett said the last of approximately 13,000 Thunder season tickets were sold Friday, and the team has put names on a waiting list for games at the Ford Center.

About 4,000 seats have been withheld for single-game, group and partial-season ticket sales. Tickets to individual games are to be sold next month.

OKC seems to have good amount of NBA fans, no matter the talent on the team theyre going to watch. They had one of the best atmospheres in the league when the Hornets were there and that was without NBA ball there ever. They shouldnt be moving anytime in this lifetime, they have FANS

They have fans who really want to watch Basketball live and have there own team. Whenever a team is moving to a new city there are always sell-outs in the first 2-3 years. But if the Thunder start to suck then so will the attendence record

It's fairly new. We'll see how many renewals there are five years if the team is still bad and the Economy is still in the shitter?

13000? That's pretty small..

Raptorman 09-17-2008 11:20 PM

13,000 is just the number of season seats. They will hold back 5,000 + for other single ticket sales etc.

Raps would court Satan to sell 13,000 SS.

somewhere in NewYork David Stern just had a boner.
seems as though his "relocated" franchises always suffer in attendance... and it was between OKC and Vegas wasnt it?
looks like stern wont be regretting this decision.

People in OKC LOVE their basketball. You saw it first hand with the Hornets. It's not surprising that they sold out - and 13,000 season tickets? That's AMAZING. The Raptors dont have that. I wouldn't be surprised if the number of seasons seat holders for the Raps are dwindling..
