No surprise there. You have probably the second best pure scorer in the game and you're not utilizing him correctly? Honestly, Baron needs to play end games with Melo/Amar'e/Chandler...he plays better with that group. Baron is a better playmaker than Lin and will be more important to the team's success come playoff time.

Carmelo is the one who refuses to give up his post up opportunities down in the mid post area to stay on the wing. D'antoni's system is to be used for the high pick n roll in the mid post area. Not to mention that Tyson Chandler's always chilling on the block, where Amar'e and Carmelo need space to operate. Don't forget that neither Amar'e and Carmelo are great defensive players. They get their own numbers. There was a reason the Knicks were winning with Lin, Jeffries, Shumpert, Fields, and Chandler. They knew their roles, trusted the system, and actually played defense. |
