Fear the deer. Bucks want the playoffs.
And I'm starting to think that might be more applicable to the 76ers than the Knicks. I just noticed that Philly has 9 of their remaining 11 games on the road. Ouch. Bucks might catch Philly instead of NY. Philly needs offense....and a PF. They should consider amnestying Brand so that they have flexibility to do something this off-season. If we end up with another PF in this years draft, the Raps and 76ers should be looking to make a deal. |

Still not a good enough rebounder for my taste (only about a dozen double-digit rebound game all season) and still doesn't go to the line nearly enough (only about 5 FTAs/gm.) He may be on his way but he still has a ways to go before I'd take him over other good PFs in the league. If the Blazers don't make the playoffs it hurts his case even more. |

Who would you go after? KG? Ryan Anderson? Maybe they could try to take on a bad contract and a decent pick, but that's a harder deal to swing lately in the NBA. |

the Blazers PR is still saying we're trying to make the playoffs.
C'mon man! The Blazers post game show is talking about the Miami Heat and Tiger Woods, don't say anything bad about the Blazers tanking in Milwaukee, good, happy times in Portland OK? Just keep saying we'll make the playoffs, and fans will believe us. |

I was thinking they should consider amnestying Brand because it might open up options for upgrades at multiple positions through a lopsided trade or free agency. I wonder if the 76ers could pry away one of Milsap or Jefferson from Utah (both could play PF) since the Jazz want to get Favours and Kanter minutes. I'm not a big fan of Jefferson, but he'd certain provide the 76ers with a good inside offensive presence. The 76ers have the best defense in the league. It's the offense that kills them. In my opinion, to get better, I don't think they need a great PF, so long as they make some kind of offensive upgrade elsewhere, as well. But Brand is definitely not the long term solution at PF. The Sixers are young and I don't think they've reached their ceiling. If you can get somebody now using Brand's cap space, do it. If the Raps ended up with another PF in this year draft, and I was in Philly's office, I'd be on the phone to Toronto as well as Utah. |

Sorry if I bitch about the Blazers too much here. They won't listen to me here in Portland. I tell them to paint the keys white like old school times, nope, they actually take the red tweener stripe out the key, making the floor even more bland. I tell the Blazers to bring back 1 dollar Blazer Dog Nights, they charge full price, even for a souvenier cup that has no Blazers on it due to the Lockout. I even applied for Blazers GM, and they ignored me. Can you imagine that? I'm just a nothing, not even a thanks but no thanks. GEEZ!

If I was Philly I'd look to trade Iguodala for a really good PF(Millsap+someone would be great with Philly) and look to sign Asik in the offseason. That way you get your all around PF and one of the best defensive centers in the league while allowing Holiday and Turner to hold the keys to the franchise as they should at this point.
BTW Ryan Anderson isn't a starting caliber PF on any teams besides one with top level centers. His offensive game relies on open 3s and putbacks, he really cant do anything else, and he's not that great of a defender. Any team that signs him longterm in the hope that he's going to start for them is making a huge mistake. He's basically Al Harrington with better rebounding but no offensive moves to counter his shooting. He'd be great in the same role as Harrington has though, but Harrington is overpaid. |
