One game?

Is this the first time that you've seen Rondo play?

give me a break. there has been an extensive and ongoing conversation on this forum about what he has done in all sorts of different situations. he threw down a great game today, undoubtedly, but almost no one has ever said he couldn't do that. the criticism has been about his inconsistency and his performance in clutch playoff situations. you came on here today and called out 2 guys for his performance in one game.

and we've all seen what happens when you make proclamations based on the first game of the season in the past.

one game, indeed.

He had 22 points and they only connected twice all game. When the Clippers start employing their pick and roll as their primary play a lot more as the season goes on thats when youll see both of them explode. The Chauncey taking a gazillion shots example from today isnt going to happen a lot this season. I was honestly surprised they only ran screen roll like 6 times this game.

PS CP3 is the best PG in the league.

Edit: Nah. It's really not worth it.

Suffice to say that I don't have anything against either Clutch or Insider so I'm not sure why you suddenly felt the need to run to their rescue.

Very classy of you to bring up that old thread 'trane. I kind of expect that from the younger kids here but you? That's new.

don't run from the reality dude. you jumped after game 1 again, and tried to reframe the debate despite people making a clear case otherwise. make accusations towards me if you think it helps, but you're flat out wrong here.

How the hell am I jumping after Game 1???

How many years has Rondo been playing this way now? The guy has a damn RING on his finger for God's sake!

Would you care to make a wager as to whether or not Rondo continues to be one of the league's premier PGs? Since it seems as though you're inferring that this one game is some sort of abberation?

I'm not wrong at all. My respect for Rondo is well-documented and is anything but "rash". I'm sure you have access to all of the archives. Look it up.

you aren't understanding the criticism of rondo. no one is saying he isn't good, and no one is saying he can't put up huge games. you are jumping after game 1 because it still doesn't address the two main issues - his inconsistency and his disappearing act in important playoff games when he avoided shooting because of an apparent lack of confidence. if anyone is to look things up, i suggest re-reading the arguments people have put forth in critique of him.

Name a star who hasn't "disappeared" in important playoff games.

Kobe pulled a huge no-show in at least 2 games against the Mavs last year.

CP3 was pretty dominant against LA to start their playoff series as well, before he cooled off.

KG had one huge game against the Heat and then was a non-factor for the rest of their series.

Those are just off the top of my head.

If this was a serious concern that was plaguing the Celts and preventing them from winning games it woud have been addressed long ago.

I'd wager that Rondo has had far more stellar playoff games than poor ones (over the last 3-4 seasons).

Bargnani is inconsistent.

Rondo's impact of the floor is VERY consistent (although his outside shooting can def. be spotty). The beauty of his game is that he does so much more than shoot the ball.
