they have been blessed (although im betting the league had a hand in this) with the easiest schedule in the league for the first 2 and a half months.
seriously, the numbers dont lie. 25 games, only 7 vs teams over .500, and 3 wins vs those teams.
i'm not impressed. they will come crashing back to earth when the second half of the season rolls around and they start playing teams that arent in the basement of their divisions.
i've said that all along

The Knicks aren't a bad team either though. I mean, they're schedule has been really easy early on, but you still have to be a good team to win those games. If the Raps had their schedule, I'm not sure that we could do any better or even as good as the Knicks record is. Amare is a beast and Felton is starting to look like an All-Star. Certainly not contenders, but will most likely be in the playoffs this year.

oh i agree, they have a pretty nice team. but you really need to look at their schedule... i was actually in disgust when i saw it. when i mention they played only 7 vs +.500 teams and saw the other 18 games and their opponents, its not even fair....
Toronto x 3 (9-15)
Minny x 2 (6-18)
Washington x 2 (6-16)
Cha x 2 (8-15)
LAC (5-20)
NJ (6-18)
Det (7-18)
GS (8-16)
Philly (8-15)
Hou (9-14)
sac (5-16)

thats a grand total of 107-227.
the winning percentage of those teams is .334
that 16-9 record is not so fantastic when you look at the numbers of their opponents.
its only a matter of time NY. only a matter of time.

Yep. The Knicks are playing some nice ball but they'll fall back to earth when the play the Celts and the Heat.

Amare's going nowhere against BOS's frontline and MIA has way too much star power for them to contend with.

The Knicks should be given credit on beating up on the bad teams, they havent done that the last 10 years. You have to beat the bad teams and then be OK vs the better teams. This week will show whether theyre a bottom 3 seed playoff wise or top 5 IMO, and I'm sure thats ok with all the Knicks fans that were just praying for a playoff berth this year, which barring injury, looks imminent. The Knciks have brought basektball back to NY, and as a Knicks fan how could they ask for anything more?

You're absolutely right there.

Credit D'Antoni too. He's done a nice job.

The Knicks managed to get players that fit their system. They are able to run plays, instead of just run. And they have some nice two-way players that give a shit. It's not greatness, but I'd take that over Bargnani and company, ten times out of ten. That's right fancylad, good sir. No wait - eleven!

You guys can be pissed but it's true lol.... I remember being impressed with him after seeing him play against us in pre-season.

Leading the NBA in rebounding for ALL SGs in the league.

Smart player on both sides of the ball... never forces anything.

An ideal player to have.

Anyone see Pierce's reaction after being asked about the rivalry between Boston and Knicks? He just laughed...the good teams don't give a fck about the Knicks. Boston will beat the Knicks easily tonight but the Heat game should be interesting. Are they playing in MSG? The Heat are gonna get booed harder then they did at the Q. But it should be fun seeing the Big 2 + Pussy go off on the Knicks.

Close but needed another 0.3 seconds. Great shot though.

.4 seconds left Amare makes a 3 but ball was still in his hands with 0.00 seconds on the clock. Didn't count.

Yahoo's boxscore actually had the Knicks winning 118 - 119 for a while there.

He hit it.... but it left his hands AFTER the final buzzer. Still... hell of a shot.

I have to apologize to Amare and the Knicks.... they played WAY better than I ever thought they would. I feel stupid for watching the Raps game instead of this one.
