EDIT: Lol.... looks like 007 and I think alike.
He's a proven winner and leader huh?

Is that why when Miami was having a bad season he decided to leave? When he had Rice/Zo/Hardaway they were beaten by his former squads as well.

Everyone says Phil Jackson has been the luckiest coach in the world, I'll argue Riley has been moreso.

Go back and read what some Laker players had to say about Riley coaching during Showtime.

What Miami needs is a coach with some balls. Say what you will about Doc Rivers but he stood up to his players when they thought they were running the team.

Yeah, how bout them Jazz. Double digit comeback in four straight games on the road! And in the second half each time! Outstanding. Btw, when's Okur coming back? He'll only make them that much better.

Matt Bonner is 7-7 from three point land right now against OKC. He's killing it.

OKC is 3-3 at home, and the message about defense first seems to be falling on deaf ears a bit now. They might take a step back this year if that's the case.

in their defense, their 3 losses at home came to Utah, BOS, SAS... so its not too surprising (or disheartening), each of those 3 are better teams.
its the loss to LAC that should not have happened.

The shooting has been amazing. Even Turk was knocking down 3s in the first half.

They're playing absolutely horrible D. And it made Turk shine for a bit.

Ahhh, they lost. Rightfully so, LA didnt deserve to win when the OPP makes 21 3s and Turk hits the dagger 3.

In other news... the Spurs are now 8-1.... quietly going about their biz....

I still stand by my prediction that they'll be the Lakers' biggest competition in the West this season. When they're healthy they're still scary good.

Your prediction is not so unreal if healty they can play a great team ball on off. and def. only issue they're not that young and the season is long.

Hey, I won't argue that Riley has had some talent on his squads... no doubt. But the man has the record to back it up too.

When he was a Laker coach he let the Lakers play fastbreak basketball.

When he coached the Knicks and Heat he preached defense and had great success with those teams too.

Most importantly though he won a title in 2006 with Shaq and Wade and a slew of solid vets who were hungry for a ring.

Riley has dealt with big egos before... some of the biggest in the game. That's not going to be a surprise for him. And like it or not, his word has some clout among NBA players because he's coached teams that have won titles.

Riley IS that coach with balls. He's a guy who won't be afraid to challenge Lebron and Bosh (and Wade) if he thinks that they're not playing the right way.
