Post Thriller's Around the NBA Daily ('09 -'10 Edition)

This was a staple last season, and one of my personal favorite threads...
Thriller's around the NBA daily, a place to discuss the goings on around the league.
Since the preseason is on in full force, i thought i'd bring thrillers thread back to life for the 2009 preseason, and 09-10 season.

Well it looks like this is Insider's around the NBA daily now, you were the one to start it!

Seriously though, it looks like Dajuan Blair was an absolute beast tonight. Dude was at 16/19 last time I checked and preseason or not, that's pretty fucking legit for a first time showing.

nah, i cant take the thunder away from thrills... this was his baby last season, i just thought i'd ressurect it.

speaking of rooks, chase budinger looks like he's fairly comfy as well, leading the ROX with 15 big points.

Until McGrady gets back there isn't going to be a lot of wing competition in Houston, so Budinger's got a chance to surprise some people in Houston. He's got nice athleticism, he can shoot, handle the ball and get to the rim. I don't see him unfolding into anything special but he could turn into a solid rotation guy.

i have a feeling Budinger can turn into a dunleavy type player (minus the destroyed knee), meaning he'll make a name out of himself due to having little or no competition in his position, similar to what dunleavy did when he went to Indiana.
he'll have a solid year and a lot of people will jump on his bandwagon... but it'll come because he pretty much had no one chasing him for minutes.

he's far from being the most talented guy on the court, but he'll do good things and play fundamentally solid.

I was gonna start this late this month, youre really jonesing for ball eh.

And no one can take away my baby. Its trademarked.

You need to capitalize Around The and Daily, stat!

I'll be coming with my full NBA preview before game 1.

He's a rookie, we'll have to cut him some slack.

Didn't three Raptors have four turnovers a pop last night? That's fucking horrible. Work the kinks out now Jay.

I'm gonna predict on the line most nights and try to calculate my total at the end of the year. I like playing centsports so I'm not using real money, but anyways. Guess I'll just use this thread

Boston (+4.5) over CLEVELAND - I hate the Shaq move, it'll make their offense halfcourt crap again and they can't guard the pick and roll. Rondo looks ripped. Cleveland might still win but not by 5 points

DALLAS (-8) over Washington - If I was betting real money I'd avoid this game. But I think Dallas does well with a big home crowd and Washingtons d sucks. Over under is 204... I'd bet over on that before I would this game

PICK OF THE NIGHT- Houston (+9.5) over PORTLAND - Way too high with Andre Miller screwing up their chemistry and Houston being tough and underrated.

LA LAKERS (-9.5) over LA Clippers - Griffin's out, which means a Kaman and Camby frontcourt. Which means no running and a bog it down halfcourt style. Which means Clippers fail

Overall record- 0-0

Pick of the night- 0-0

And for the heck of it, season predictions

East-

1. Orlando
2. Boston
3. Cleveland
4. Philadelphia
5. Atlanta
6. Chicago
7. Washington
8. Toronto

9. Miami
10. Indiana
11. Charlotte
12. New Jersey
13. Indiana
14. Milwaukee
15. New York

West

1. LA Lakers
2. Denver Nuggets
3. San Antonio Spurs
4. Phoenix
5. Dallas
6. Utah
7. New Orleans
8. Houston

9. Portland
10. Oklahoma City Thunder
11. LA Clippers
12. Golden State
13. Memphis
14. Minnesota
15. Sacramento

ECF - Orlando over Boston in 7

WCF - LA Lakers over Denver in 7

Finals- Orlando Magic over LA Lakers in 6 games

MVP- Dwight Howard

COY- Stan Van Gundy

ROY- James Harden

MIP- Hakim Warrick

6th- Lamar Odom
