Bosh.

Dude, seriously. This is just going to encourage TORap. "See guys! That's why I have to protect Bosh's name!"

Obviously Bosh is better now. But who is Ed Davis compared to Bosh's rookie season?

It does take two to tango. I know you like to suggest that I'm quick to defend Bosh at every instance. Mostly I just don't pile on with the blind emotional responses. Torap goes overboard on occasion, but he's certainly not alone. Maybe try to pick another dancing partner every once in awhile?

Bosh is the better player, but as far as who I'd rather have on my team, I'd give the nod to Ed. He has raw talent and has a drive to get better. I'd argue that his inside defense and rebounding is already better than Bosh's as well.

What kind of a question is this.

Ed Davis is 1000x better.

Bosh's rookie numbers.... compared to Ed's.

davis - 7.7 ppg, 57%fg, 7.1 rpg, 0.6 apg, 1.0 bpg, 0.6 spg, 24 mpg
bosh - 11.5ppg, 46%fg, 7.4rpg, 1.0 apg, 1.4 bpg, 0.8 spg, 34 mpg

Don't have a problem at all with people suggesting that Ed may be a better player at this stage than Bosh was.... but to compare Ed with Bosh NOW is the very height of comedy.

Theyre completely different players. I see Davis as turning in to more of an Ibaka type than Bosh type.

Davis is already better defensively than Bosh ever has and ever will be.

That's enough for me.

When does Ed get blamed for the team's failures? Next season? The one after that?

It's part of being a fan, to like or dislike this or that player beyond what they bring to the court. If Bosh had never played here he would be looked at differently in Miami. In any case, the real hypothesis that needs testing, concerns the conclusion that Miami would win a championship with Davis instead of Bosh. It's hard to see that as worth even considering, since Miami wanted Bosh from the time he was drafted, and certainly have used him as an integral third option and key defender, rather than just looking for him to try and establish his own merits as though he were a rookie.

When the Raps pay him $15 mill+ per season and he doesn't pass well out of double teams.

Yes and no. I agree that he wouldn't generate 1/10 of the discussion he currently does. However, some people would still be making fun of him and thinking he is somewhat overrated (regardless of whether that's fair. That's not my point) Non-Canadians and non-Raptor fans on the internet make fun of him, too. It's not just Raptor fans who "bad mouth him".

Of course they'd win the title. No Bosh = more time and touches for Joel motherfucking Anthony.

i like davis, a lot, but it's a lot easier for a player to chip in than to carry a team. even comparing rookie seasons, Bosh was asked to go up against starting centres on a nightly basis where davis is getting the opportunity to develop with little expectations.

btw, is this the same dude that is saying that johnson is better than artest at every aspect of the game and bayless is better than whoever he really isn't?

regardless of the obvious answer to this question, i do believe ed davis has the ability to be a better player than bosh...like mentioned above, he arguably has better defensive instincts and similar rebounding talent than bosh.......its all about whether he can develop a consistent mid range shot.....thats the X factor to his game and the X factor towards this argument and whether he will end up being better than Bosh or not.....lets just say that overall, hes off to a good start

Maybe at some point he'll be a better overall player then Bosh currently is. I see that as a possibility. But to say that he is currently better is insane.

That's such a stupid comparison right NOW.

I honestly believe, if Ed stays healthy, he will end up to be a better player than Bosh.

Bosh will probably have a couple championships at the end of the day while Davis might not, but if both were rookies this year, I'd pick Davis to go with into the future.
