Tayshaun Prince staying in detroit

Tayshaun Prince(notes) will sign a four-year, $27 million-plus contract to stay with the Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

For the Pistons, convincing Prince to re-sign was the franchise’s No. 1 priority, and something of a coup considering the tumultuous past two seasons for him and the longstanding core of veteran players. With the market for starting small forwards thinning, the Pistons would’ve been in a bind had Prince decided to leave.

Nevertheless, the new ownership of Tom Gores, the hiring of coach Lawrence Frank and the bond with general manager Joe Dumars helped sway Prince back to the chance to finish his career with Detroit.

Wow.. Tay... you crazy. That team is going nowhere fast.

I see him signing solely for the money and to keep a low profile. He doesn't want to win, its clear.

He has already won, maybe he just wants to finish his career where it started, in Detroit.

Maybe he has a family and they like it in Detroit. Basketball is a business, but sometimes you've gotta make scarifies.

At least he's getting paid! If he's comfortable in Detroit then all the best in him. As a player Ill hate it if I had to buy a new home every few years

i'm really surprised the pistons offered him a contract. i was under the impression that it'd be in the pistons best interest getting rid of both him and rip this upcoming season.

Dumars has one decent player left, not about to lose him.
