T-Mac in the all-star game

I just don't understand who is voting for him. Don't they realize that he's played like one game for 14 minutes this season?

There's no way David Stern should let him play, let alone START in the all-star game over Steve Nash and the other great guards in the West

Stonezz 01-08-2010 03:09 PM

Not really Raptors news. But I agree that is pretty fucked up. Stupid popularity contest.

jeffb 01-08-2010 03:14 PM

It's really no more stupid then the fact that Iverson is the leading vote getter among SG's in the eastern Conference. And so if voting ended today he and T-Mac would be starters!!

A combined 19GP this season. Now that is fucked up!

Stonezz 01-08-2010 03:15 PM

Yeah that's ridiculous but lets not talk shit about him until tommorow 'cause he might put up all-star numbers tonight

Tmac is big in China hence the vote being so lopsided.

All Star games are horrible and ALL NBA are more important.

INSIDER 01-08-2010 03:25 PM

every year this kinda thing happens, so i've lost all respect for the voting system... i never expect things to go perfectly. my only question is how the hell is Tmac still so popular?
China? really?
but tmac sucks now.

tmac has been to china with yao a few times. So I suppose why wouldn't the chinese public vote for Yao's best friend as well. Its not like they actually watch the games anyways

T-Mac in the West and Iverson has a starting spot in the East. It's not right. I understand the game is fan driven, but fan's input should be a fraction. 11 of the guys should be chosen by the coaches, players and league, and the 12th man should be chosen by the fans much like in baseball whereby the fans have to choose a final roster spot in each league, and MLB puts forth the names.

Not an all star game, this is a biggest fan game. There are much better players that deserve the spots more than a washed up AI and injury riddled T MAC.

Gurk 01-08-2010 04:34 PM

Hopefully even if they start the coaches bench them after 2 minutes cuz seriously, they suck

INSIDER 01-08-2010 04:54 PM

the game has always been about the fans, so they wont do anything too drastic to change that approach. What they should implement, however, is a game limit rule - in which a player must play X amount of games that season in order to be eligible to be voted in.
maybe make the cap 25 games.

kahlspirit 01-08-2010 05:13 PM

I m one of the people voting for TMAC and AI lately ,,,, I just hope they make it and prove how ridiculous this system is.
I m gonna keep voting them in ... I cant wait to see the reaction this will generate if it happens.

Raptorman 01-08-2010 05:40 PM

If Michael Jordan was on the ballet, he would be a starter.

Dark Knight 01-08-2010 05:47 PM

Remember that year when Shaq was with Miami and was voted a starter even though he played like 5 games? This is not about skills, its about popularity.

RaptorsFan95 01-08-2010 10:51 PM

I love T-Mac but i wouldnt spend my votes on him when I know other people deserve it more. The voting system can be really biased.
