Amare's playing.

That WOULD be hilarious though if we held him to like 5 & 5 or something with 9 TOs.

I have a theory, whether you agree or not, i don't give a damn. I believe Lin is doing this well, on a continuous basis, due to where he came from. He's a harvard graduate, and to be able to get a degree from harvard, well, let's just say it requires a bit of work. His work ethic was grown to be phenomenal and i can see Lin, now that he has all this free time, devoting all his time to developing his game, and watching tapes of himself to get rid of weaknesses before other teams take advantage.

However, I stick to my point that Lin will drop off, eventually, because tapes, and work ethic, in a league dominated by athletisicm will only get you so far. Teams will eventually find a game plan to shut him down, that he won't be able to fix. Sorry Lin, but i believe you're best work may have been at harvard

If that were really true (and it is for the most part) then Nash and Stockton wouldn't be HOFers. Neither would Larry Bird and Kevin McHale.

Athleticism is important.... but a high bball IQ and a strong work ethic can take you very far.

Using that theory, Yale graduate Chris Dudley should've been one of the best centres of the last 20 years.

You seem too concerned with allocating blame on someobody. In my opinion, based on what I've seen of him - and read about him, he just stepped up his game at the right time.

GS got a look at him. And, since his games for GS are on tape, so did the rest of the league. It's not like he was completely burried on the bench for every game. He got double digit minutes in more than a dozen games and didn't even shoot 40%. Hundreds of guys show a flash of brilliance at some point. Even the worst in the NBA are great basketball palyers. It's about who can do it consistently. And that's much, much harder to judge. It will only be obvious in a small percentage of the league's players. A lot of the other guys it's just speculation until the verdict is in.

If you just watch tape, up until the NJ game, there is little difference between Lin and a good back-up, like say, Dragic. Goran looks dope in some of his highlight packages. Goran's not even a starter.

I suppose that you can forgive GS since they had Curry, Monta and Nate.
Minor point, but GS actually cut Lin before they picked up Nate. More salt in their fans' wounds.

Quote:
HOU has Lowry, Dragic and Flynn so maybe they get a pass too....
Maybe? Morey is the guy who implored Ainge to draft Rondo. Morey spotted him. That's the thing here, if somebody was going to spot this, it would probably be Morey. McHale is good at spotting talent to. He drafted your boy Pekovic. These guys Know what they are doing. And, even after Lin's 5 good games, they are still saying they might not have spotted it.

Quote:
... but how the HELL did it take this long for Lin to get some burn in NYK???
Probably because they already have two young guards, Tony Douglas and Shumpert. They were invested in developing those dudes. It's when Dantoni got desperate that he had to try anything to mix it up.

One thing I've been thinking about.... the Knicks are going to have almost $60M on the books for next season... and that's WITHOUT re-signing guys like Baron, Jared Jeffries, Novak and Fields who will all be FAs at the end of this season.

Gonna be interesting to see what they do.

Lin will be a restricted free agent this summer, meaning the Knicks can match any offer he receives, without respect to the salary cap. So if the Knicks want to keep him in July, they have every means to do so.

The Knicks do not own any so-called Bird rights on Lin because he was acquired on waivers. However, they are protected by what is known as the Gilbert Arenas rule. That provision, named for the former Washington guard, adopted in 2005, limits rival teams from offering anything more than the average player salary to a restricted free agent with two years or fewer in the N.B.A.

The Knicks will be able to use their midlevel exception, which is slightly higher than the average player salary, to sign Lin or to match any offer. If no other team tenders Lin an offer, the Knicks can use any part of their midlevel exception or biannual exception to sign him.

Most points in his first 5 starts since the NBA/ABA merger.

That's more than Lebron... MJ.. Kobe... Wade.. Shaq... Duncan... etc.

And every start's been a win.

You may not like the hype but I don't see how you can hate the player. He's a good kid and a heck of a player. Can't believe that Knicks' luck to get him AND Fields in B2B years.

I'm on the bandwagon. He's been a great story thus far, so much so that a few of my friends have started to watch basketball again even though their still sour about the lockout. J-Lin is bringing fans back regardless if he's the real deal or not.

yeah im hating the hype (because he's a knick), but deep down inside the underdog story is pumping me up everyday to play some basketball. I just wished he would've blown up in his hometown of golden state
