lin was in a time magazine article when he was a senior in harvard. still, it's always a good story watching a undrafted journeyman become something bigger

And it will be interesting to see what happens when Amare and BallHogMelo return. Could kill all their momentum.
What exactly are your expectations? He's clearly not gonna stay as the first option with Melo and Amare on the same team. He should still be a solid player if the chemistry isn't too messed up.

The Lakers tried to make Lin play to his weakness, thought to be as perimiter shooting. Turns out he could shoot it at a high clip.

He's the real deal.

What Lin has done is bought himself a ticket into the NBA. He looked on the bubble as far as getting a contract. No he will be possibly overpaid.....if this is a mirage. He'll have to keep it up and involve his teammates even more. I can't say I saw great defense against him.

Fisher, Bryant, Blake all bumped him and tried to stay in front of him. 6 turnovers were made and you're saying they didn't play defense?
They sagged, he made shots. They tightened up, he blew by them. Just because he has the ability to expose defenses with a quick first step and an outside shot, you'll discredit the Lakers d?

At least it wasn't the Wiz or Nets right?... Give me a break, and give him a break. When's the last time some 23yo guard dropped 38 on the Lakers and won with Jeffries, Shumpert, Fields, and Chandler? Tough crowd.

Too early.

I'm not part of the tough crowd. I think it's a good story.

I'm from Missouri. Gonna have to show me more.

And furthermore, the same way I don't assume Toronto will torch Boston when they haven't played overtime the night before, I won't assume LAL will get torched after they played Boston overtime the night before.

First it was Jimmer Fredette mania, later there was Tim Tebow mania and now there is Lin mania.. I will give couple of weeks maybe month at the most, soon all this will be over and everything will comeback to normal..

It's like this every year. Jennings dropping 50 in his rookie year had everyone cumming, Fredette, Tebow etc...... Like you said, let's wait and see.

And with every game this last week you see "are the doubters convinced yet". lol

Fredette didn't do this in the NBA, he doesn't have a great story to back it all up neither. Tebow on the other hand, Stephen A Smith explained it best. He was always average and it's not like the football season is long anyway.

Of course it'll die down tho hah.

Jennings dropped 55 on the Warriors. Besides that, there's a distict difference in the two situations. Jennings is a streaky shooter and Lin is a smart player.
Talent-wise his team is so subpar compared to any other right now.

I think you go off the rails a bit when you mention the supporting cast Kirby. They aren't a completely talentless lot. There are good shooters. They all have good energy to match Lin's. They play solid defense. And none of them are going to expect a particular amount of touches, which gives Lin all the freedom in the world.

Being a successful pg in this league is often about circumstances and who you are playing with. Right now Lin does not have it so bad in either area. I'm not sure why a Steve Novak is getting overlooked so much in all of this.
