It's really comparing apples to oranges.

NYK has sucked this year. Anyone who's watched them play has literally cringed at how bad they've been. Hoisting 35-40 3s a game.... selfish iso play... zero ball movement... that's all changed since Lin has been inserted. Their roster without Melo and Amare (and Baron) is downright laughable. The only guy who'd start on any other team in the league is probably Chandler... and yet they've won the last 3 games.

Why is it so difficult to believe that GMs could have just missed the boat on this guy? Happens all the time. That's how guys like Boozer, Millsap and Redd end up going 2nd round. It's how guys like Parker and Ginobili end up getting chosen 28th or 29th overall. Lin himself admitted that he wasn't a great "solo workout" guy because he really wasn't going to do anything that would wow you athletically.... but play him 5-on-5 and he's magic because he has a bball IQ that's far beyond most rooks (esp. at the PG spot). He just knows how to play the game. Plain & simple.
GMs might have missed the boat, but seriously, there isn't much to go on to say so.

I'm not sure how Bayless is apples to oranges. His team sucked worse and was down 28 in that game.

Could some of the improvement in NY in terms of ball movement have something to do with the absence of Melo? Schumpert and Novak stepped up a ton and didn't let the ball stick. Same with Fields who played well without Melo before and dipped badly with Melo there, and now looks nice again.

It's nice that Lin knows something about how to play, but he's also played amongst pylons for the most part. Again there isn't that much to go on in that sense either. You've fallen in love. I'm just suggesting that maybe you wait until Valentines day before you get too deep.

Why do you think D'Antoni has been riding this guy so hard lately? Why do you think he played 44 min against the Jazz? Because the Knicks STILL suck without him on the floor. No one else can run an effective P & R except him. And that's the bread & butter of their offense. Nearly ALL of Chandler's 25 pts from last game were spoonfed from Lin. Ditto for Novak's 3s.

Oh I'm in love... that much is true. Same way that I fell in love with Rondo after seeing him for a few games... and pardon me for saying so but I think that my love was justified.

It's called confidence. The team is confident with him on the court.

However, I haven't seen teams even force the kid left yet. No one knows about him. No game plans, no nothing. I've seen a lot of players take the world by storm but when teams adjust, defences adjust and egos start to take over, the player comes back down to earth.

This isn't to say Lin isn't a good player. He obviously is. However, I still say this, I think he's play well over his head right now.

Yeah well having a pg rather than no point guard would be significant. They've got nobody else really.

Some truth there but you can bet your ass that John Wall knew who he was and wanted to prove something in their "rematch". The fact that he couldn't dominate Lin (and the fact that his team lost the game handily) says something.

Teams will start to gameplan for him, yes.... but then again next week Amare will be back and a few weeks after that Melo too... so I wouldn't plan on teams being able to load up on him too much.

To be clear I think that when N.Y.'s roster is complete Lin won't be avging 20 & 10.... but he could very well be somewhere around 13 + 9 or so... which is actually pretty damn good for a starting PG.

I'll give this to Lin, it only took him a few games to get to the point where teams and players around the league are goint to have to start gameplanning for him defensively, whereas it took Bargnani half a decade.

you think that teams didn't start gameplanning for Bargnani after his rookie season when he was runner up for ROY? Offense has never been an issue for bargnani, and teams have always had to gameplan for him. a half decade is how long it took for him to play D and play hard more consistently

That's 'cause Bosh dominated the ball. At least Lin gets assists.

geez...people are so sensitive when it comes to Bargs...

It's true, he's only begun to get the best efforts from opposing teams. Lin is about to get the same;
