Suns looking to possibly move some of their 2014 picks

“I think one of the things that’s important for people to realize is that we may not draft four players even if we have four picks,” McDonough told NBA.com. “Our preference would probably be to maybe package a few of them. We’re obviously all looking for stars and we feel like we can put together a package as good, if not better, than any other team in the league if and when a star becomes available. That’s kind of generally what we’ve wanted to do, not only with our draft-pick situation but also with the cap space that we’ve acquired.”

Their picks:

2014 first round draft pick from Minnesota
2014 first round draft pick from Washington
2014 first round draft pick from Indiana
2014 their own pick

Sould we not be all over this?

Gurk 12-13-2013 11:18 PM

Fuck they have a lot of picks. I like there team, and honestly what would they even want for one of those picks, Amir? DD?

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 12-13-2013 11:19 PM

Dragic and that collection of picks for DD. :mu:

The only players I could see them wanting is DD and Amir and I personal don't want to get rid of either one of them unless it means we get better in the long run. Washington will probably make the playoffs this year because the Eastern Conference is so brutal and Indiana are a lock. The only pick that I would want from them is their own because I think Minnesota will get either the 7th or 8th seed and Phoenix will miss out even though they are playing good ball. I'd gladly give away expiring contracts for the pick, along with picking up some of their players that they don't want that are under contract for next year or more.

Toronto: Felton, Okafor, Hardaway Jr. 1st 2014 Minesota, 1st 2014 Washington
Suns: Derozan, Shumpert, Amir
Knicks: Lowry

To be fair, right now the Minny pick is non transferable. I think Masai has to wait for a draft day trade to get the player he wants. It's to early to make a deal for picks at this point.

Kirby 12-14-2013 02:47 AM

wow really?

take em all!

rapsmannn 12-14-2013 04:09 AM

that minny pick could be interesting considering love at any moment could ask for a trade he has L.A Lakers in mind long term anyways we all know its going to happen

well I think so anyways

He definitely wants out of Minnesota, that is for sure. It makes me sad because I actually enjoy watching the T-Wolves play as they have a really good team and a really good coach. They have finally turned the corner and could possibly be a playoff team now, but it will only last until Love wants out.

To LA? I doubt it.

woodchuck 12-14-2013 12:30 PM

Unless they are very high on DeMar, it doesn't sound like there's a trade to be had. It says they are looking at stars.

Chiggmo 12-14-2013 02:55 PM

We have nothing they want.

We all would. :mu: :mu:

In all seriousness though, they want a star and imo NY should try to deal Carmelo there and fleece them of the picks and get a couple young pieces as well. They have got to know their current roster is going absolutely nowhere. Start the tank now, and when Stoudamire comes off the books in 2015 start spending again if that's what you want to do. Throw up the white flag

If I'm PHX I'm talking to DET about Monroe..... he'd be a great addition to their current squad.

"Nope" as in... he WOULDN'T be a great addition? Because I'll need to hear your reasoning why if that's the case.
