Suns Suns in full blown rebuild - Hire Ryan McDonough As GM

Quote:
The Phoenix Suns have hired Ryan McDonough as general manager.

McDonough will replace Lance Blanks and will report to Lon Babby.

McDonough most recently was assistant general manager of the Boston Celtics.

McDonough joined the Celtics in 2003 as a 23-year-old special assistant to basketball operations.

McDonough is the son of the late renowned Boston Globe columnist Will McDonough, and the brother of ESPN broadcaster Sean and NFL player personnel executive Terry.

With hiring of Boston's McDonough, Suns direction is clear: No more stopgap short-term free agents, rebuild through multiple picks in draft.

First job for McDonough in Phoenix will be to hire a coach: Expect him to find a bright, young assistant to grow with a full-blown rebuild
If this is really the case and they are doing a full rebuild... Is there anything the Raps can snag from them that we would want?

Scola??? Gortat? Dragic?? We probably dont have anything they want (i.e picks)

Back in the day there was the fight over who would be better here on the Raps - Lin/Dragic/Lowry. I wanted Dragic but he had a choice to pick where he wanted to go. Lin, will become more consistent in time. Lowry...I like Lowry but jeeze, there were way too many injury excuses on here for his play. I'm guilty of it too but looking back it seemed almost absurd.

He wasn't injured that season. He had an infection/illness.

IMO the final 6 weeks or so was when Lowry started to look more like himself and the first week of this season was the Lowry i've seen the last 2-3yrs.

Top 5.........not a chance. lol

This top whatever needs to stop. Point is raps have a starting pg who can rebound, defend pretty well, along with Amir and Jonas is one of the most productive players on the team and he's set to make just over 6 million next season. Things could be worse. Anywho, if Bargs for Scola + the currently under investigation Beasley happened that wouldn't be too bad.

Scola makes less than half what Bargnani makes, why deal him when Phoenix is looking to dump salary? I know they'd love to unload Beasley but they have to be saving money by adding another player making 7-8mil/yr imo.

Beasley (7.5Mil) + 2nd player (7-8Mil) for Bargs + 2014 2nd rounder

Beasley is a bigger waste than Bargs. The Pheonix penal system can keep him.

I agree, don't want him either. Just saying i doubt they'd trade Scola and his reasonable contract in the state they're in.

About Scola, I agree about that contract but he might be the sweetener to move an undiresable one.

Why, to get our higher priced undesireable one?

Point is why would they give up Scola just to get rid of the undesireable Beasley in order to get Bargnani? Or are we talking about the same thing?
