It's because he went to the hated Lakers.

Phoenix was looking to move in a different direction and start the rebuilding process. The management just did him a favour by trading him to a division rival because of what Nash has done for the organization for the past 7 or 8 years.

I just feel that PHX looks at the Lakers as their biggest rivals, while the Lakers don't really find PHX relevant. So they overreact because of it.

I guess one can say that the situation is similar to that of Chris Bosh. He gave his effort for his time as a Raptor (although this is arguable for the latter half of his last season), but there is a lot of hate for his departure. I guess fans are bitter to see their best players leave, and use them as a scapegoat for their problems.

It's the Lakers, which is the issue they have. If he went to the Knick they wouldn't be doing this.

Maybe the fans will not be as venomous, but there will still be a lot of bitterness I think.

The Suns only wanted to offer him 2 years. I think he also wanted to contend though and be close to Phoneix which is why L.A. was ideal for him. He remained professional, won 2 MVPS with the Suns, and always played hard for them. I can see why some fans are upset that he went to a division rival (Lakers) with all the bad blood between the two in the playoffs. It's kind of like Sundin playing for the Senators.

i don't like All-Star vets taking less money to play for contenders.

Doubtful, but here's hoping the Lakers get a worn out Gary Payton version of Nash.

Had Bosh gone to any other team other then the Heat, he would have got a standing O in his first game back, but he chose to unite with D-Wade, LeBron. Only reason why so many Raptor fans, including me, don't like Bosh

No it's not! The Lakers-Celtics rivalry is one of the biggest in all of sports. LAL-PHX is barely even a rivalry.

Its the team he left them for that i suppose would have fans angry not the fact that he left. the lakers and suns had a rivalry fighting for the division title and facing each other in playoffs... it sucks to have the face of your franchise join the "enemy" and make the lakers even better.

yeah we don't really have a enemy so i guess they got it worse. That does suck if you think about it, but it's not like he toyed with their emotions like Dwight is doing.

i won't accept nash going lakers or Allen going heat. If people wanna call me a baby or something that's cool. Don't hate either player but i find it very disappointing.

going to a team that you've hated at your previous team. Esp Ray who's been knocked out by a really hated rival in the last 2 years.
