Stuckey turns down long term 8+Mil/yr contract

Either he just doesn't want to be there or he has a distorted view of his worth.

Just filed to ESPN: Pistons & restricted FA Rodney Stuckey at an impasse. Stuckey balking at Pistons' 5 year, $40-45 million offer

And what's up with Dumars? It's either a minimum, or 30-60 million. Has he forgotten numbers in between? :sigh:

The best he'll get from another team is probably 2 years 12-14 million. I dont know what the hell Dumars is thinking these days, he must be off his meds. Stuckey doesnt help you get better with the core you've already put in place, and by core, I mean mediocre talent with huge contracts. Theyre better off letting Knight play and develop.

powerfulpanda 12-14-2011 12:48 PM

if its because stuckey wants to go to a better team then i respect him for turning down this kind of money

TORaptor4Ever 12-14-2011 12:52 PM

What was Stuckey's last contract like?

Damn.... can't believe he's turning down that kind of money. Does he think he's going to be paid like a C or something? :confused2:

Superjudge 12-14-2011 01:24 PM

whatever, they just had a lock out, fully supported by players that complained that stern was a slave driver trying to steal money from their babies... now, they get offered 8 million a year and they say no....

He turned it down because he wants more money.

Stuckey's representatives, seeking an even bigger deal, have been contacting other teams the past few days, looking to broker a sign-and-trade deal. However, the Pistons are telling teams they won't agree to one, sources said.

If the impasse continues, Stuckey's representatives are threatening to take the Pistons' one-year, $3.87 million qualifying offer, which would make him an unrestricted free agent in 2012.

Rodney Stuckey, Detroit Pistons at bargaining impasse, sources say - ESPN

Superjudge 12-14-2011 01:29 PM

if im detroit I take it and bid him adieu, he aint that great

ValanciunasFanboy 12-14-2011 01:34 PM

3.87 mil q.o. is about the right price for him. Imo, it's not given that he could more than the 7th guy on a good team.

Shifty.py 12-14-2011 02:04 PM

wow delirious

Blaze 12-14-2011 02:17 PM

If he was a free agent one year from now and Bayless proved to us he can't be our starting point guard, I can see BC bringing him here.

carp 12-14-2011 02:26 PM

sign and trade jose!

creative1mm 12-14-2011 02:52 PM

usually a story like this is followed by Stucky fire ring his agent..
other then that, he is making a huge mistake.. heck even if he didn't like it in the D, you think Chris Webber wanted to say in Sac town, No.. but when you have 120mill reasons to stay then why not

LX 12-14-2011 03:27 PM

It's beginning to look like Dumars was just lucky in putting together the championship team.

yup, they were underdogs that year too and i just think the lakers beat themselves more than anything

Grizz 12-14-2011 05:48 PM

Apparently the Pistons were using Conley's new deal as the comparable player for salary purposes, and Stuckey's camp consider him the superior player.

But hey if they can convince Dumars that PER is the only thing that matters I'm sure he'll get his 10+ mil deal any time now.
