Yeah Nash is looking better than he did in his MVP years so far.

they went back to the run n' gun, and he's doing his thing.... that shaq experiment was a disaster.

1) Good call on starting this thread. I was wondering if someone would do this. Last night, I thought to myself, "what would it take for Nash to get MVP consideration? Would a 50 win season do it?"

2) Yeah, Windex, I think Frye will put up some offensive numbers. He has always had a decent outside touch, he's just never been on a team that used him effectively. To be fair, there really weren't many minutes for him in Portland, given the play of Aldridge and Outlaw in the front court. In Phoenix's system, he can get minutes at the center position. This could be bad for Robin Lopez's development. The slickest thing about the Frye pick-up is that he only costs $2 million. What a steal. Cleveland should have snagged Frye with the bi-annual exception. Maybe they tried.

It's 100% impossible for Nash to win an MVP

He'd have to have un-gettable numbers, and a ring this year to get his third.

Howard and Lebron are penciled in for the next two, then CP3

Your points are well taken, but I said MVP consideration, not that he'd win. What needs to happen this year before people can consider him without being called homers? Maybe that's a better way of putting it. I mean, if the Suns won 50+ games, I think some reporters could legitimately give him 3rd place votes, depending on what other players do.

Winning a ring just doesn't enter into it.

Lebron looks likely - but he has to deal with his own Shaq experiment - so who knows.

His points are crap.

Nash winning the championship this year means nothing towards the MVP since it's handed out before the Finals and is based on regular season play.

Ah, yes, the ring part is indeed "crap." I totally overlooked that and was focussed on the other potential candidates he mentioned. Dirk's 2007 MVP is one of the best examples of how the playoffs don't matter.

ok whatever, im just saying, his team would have to UBER over achieve, and then, he still wont because Lebron already won this year.

Well, that's sort of what I was trying to gauge. What would be considered "Uber" over achieving? What do people actually expect from the Suns?

I think bouncing back with 55+ wins and him carrying a really crazy statline all year would do it.

I think they would restrain from giving him another mvp on the basis that he doesn't have a ring and already has 2 mvp's. Same reason why they robbed him on his best season and gave dirk an mvp.

it will linger in the voters minds that he already has 2 and hasn't won a ring even if he is deserving
