Hoopshype (Jorge Sierra Blog): Stack not ready to retire
Quote:
if we had extra cash around, i wouldn't mind using it on him... savvy vet who still has some game left in those legs... i'm surprised no one has offered him anything as yet, he still has something left in the tank i would assume. |

I was thinking SF...
i know it would never happen, but how much better would he have looked on the squad than douby? I'm just more surprised that no one has thrown him a bone... no one. not even the spurs... and they love going after veterans like him. |

07-08 - he played about 70 games and put up some decent numbers for the Mavs...
same as the year before that. for a vet presence off the bench, he would give you 10 ppg and a few rebs/assts. He took pretty much all last season off, and says he feels great (his own words of course). Looks like he'll just be forced into retirement. |

He's played 26, 56, 55, 67, 58 and 10 games each season over the last six years.
My bet is he'll hook up with a team looking for a little added insurance/depth going into the playoffs. Last edited by Acie; 10-07-2009 at 11:34 AM. |

Pass. Stack is just too old. His legs have seen better days. With the youngins we have, I'd rather go forward with them. I couldn't see Stackhouse coming to a team that doesn't play him unless he has a real good shot at a ring. I could see him on the Spurs, Lakers, Cavs, Celtics....

There is no chance in hell that he becomes a Raptor this year unless its through a trade. The teams I could envision him landing on would be the Magic, Jazz, Rocket and Knicks. The Rocket and Jazz certainly could use some vet depth like what Stack could offer. The Jazz in particular. They're hurting at the 2 right now. Stack would start the season for them if he were there.
