Default st louis tv money!?

Ok so, i'm re-reading "the book of basketball," and have just read something that must have totally passed me by the last time I read it! when the aba and nba merged, in order to agree to disband they arranged getting one seventh of four teams' tv money.......for ever!!?? Holy shit, what a deal! Unbelievable. poor old pacers, small market team, losing a seventh of their tv money every year!?

anyway, not really current affairs, (actually it's still going on, so it kind of is,) but thought i'd post anyway.

The Nets, not the Knicks.

Nets, Pacers, Nuggets, Spurs.

It sucks, but what can you do. Good for them. I wonder about the exact language in the deal, however. Do they get a piece of online broadcasts, like online league pass, for example. If not, then I imagine the deal will become less painful (for the Pacers, Nets, etc) in a few decades.

Of course, read an article when I saw that and it just said new york, but it's the nets. It doesn't include online or international.

I wonder. I remember them in court a few years ago about the international broadcast money.

I'd love to see the language of the deal. The issue here is that the NBA guys didn't foresee the value of broadcasting in general. So did they actually define it as national TV broadcasting? How did they exclude online, not like there was internet at the time? Hopefully, they have, somehow. But it would be awesome to read those documents.

Funny that I was just reading a book that mentioned this deal. it has given 4 owners over 100MM since the merger.
