Spurs interested in VC?

I know this has nothing to do with the raptors, but i heard it on TSN this morning. Suposedly the Spurs are debating if he would put them over the top in the West, but they have no one to give back in return. Personally and speaking for all Raps fans here, i think the spurs should leave him. Spurs wouldn't be boring, but still be old if it went down

I don't think the Spurs need him to be completely honest. They've got Roger Mason and Matt Bonner playing at a high level and the big three are obviously going to do their thing, so I don't think it's worth it.

I don't know who goes the other way - Timmy D, Parker and Ginobili take up most of the payroll (and none of those 3 are going to be dealt for Carter ) and after that, there is a massive gap down to the next annual salary, which is 4.5 million, so I don't know how that deal would work.

this is one scenerio that would actually work out for both VC and the spurs. as long as the spurs can keep their core (TD, Manu, TP) intact, this would be a terrific move.

the spurs need a certified scorer who can put up 20 a night without trying "to be the man", and without demanding a lot of touches, or messing with chemistry.
its kinda like the "anti-iverson" trade.

VC is at the perfect time in his career where he can settle into a role that doesnt require him to do anything, doesnt require him to be in the spotlight, and doesnt require him to be a leader. its the dream position for him.
he would excel and the spurs would be very tough to beat.

If VC lands in SA ... and they can keep parker and duncan

have mason come off the bench...

definitley could put them over the top.

Same. Why would anyone give up Manu for Carter.

Because Carter has all the talent in the world and as good as Manu is, he can't do what Carter does (when Carter wants to). I've always said it - in the right role, Carter is one of the most productive swingmen in the league.

Right on! No way will we take Carter! SA is doing perfectly fine. Second in the west. If we got Carter we would probably plummet downhill.

The only way they go for Carter is if they can keep Duncan, Parker and Manu. Dealing any of those three for Carter is at best a lateral movement. That being said tonight showed they need another scorer for when Bonner and Roger are off. Their team right now cannot beat the Lakers, Celtics or Cav's.

They are actually talking about VC to the Rockets for Artest...idk who else they are looking to throw in there with him. VC/TMac together again?! Pretty nice squad...

Alston/Brooks
VC/Wafer?
TMac/?
Scola/Landry
Yao/Mutombo? lol

The bench needs to step their asses up with this squad, it's looking weak!

ya but with vince, they still wouldnt be at LA's level. They would give up a lot for Vince and it would take away from everybody's game. It would ruin the team chemistry and the team defence. Even Bowen has fallen out of the rotation there. George hill is playing well right now and the last thing they need is vince.
Parker/Hill/Vaughan
Mason JR/Ginobli/Udoka
Finley/Bowen
Bonner/Thomas
Duncan/Oberto

Vince wouldnt play but if he does it will take away from the team.
