Good stuff. I'm sure within 10 years, she'll be the first woman Head Coach in NBA history after spending years learning under Popovichs tutelage.

Just saw the story on ESPN. Very cool, and as BDL said, she'll be a sought-after commodity after working under Pop.

This is just quibbling, but Boyer worked as a "volunteer assistant" while Hammon is a hired, paid assistant.

Weren't those the Darius Miles-led Cavs ? That was the ugliest team in recent history...

Hope she achieves great success under Coach Pop and maybe when the time comes she will get a head coaching job in the WNBA.

Dude wtf, she has the same chance as any assistant starting up. The league has been progressive on many things, it won't stop with stupid gender bias like urs. Coaching isn't about being physical superior, brotherhood or any other thing one can throw out there regarding sex, it's all about understanding how to play basketball. The nba isn't the only league in which basketball is played at a professional level. Veterans in any league, nba, wnba, or Europe are very capable of coaching at any level given proper guidance. And there is no better system to develop your coaching skills than in pops.

She's in a good position to start her coaching career. Whether she will ultimately become a head coach will be independent of her sex for the most part.

Did I say I wouldn't do it? I have zero faith in my fellow man in the NBA to do this within ten years.
