i thought the Suns were trying to shed their contracts and save money? this doesnt make much sense....
i'm not surprised though, nothing Kerr does makes sense anymore.

Kerr did an amazing job of dismantling the most exciting team in basketball.

Where does Phoenix go after this? Steve Nash is my boy, but he's old, and at this point he's not carrying that team anywhere. I can't understand locking up $22 million in a player who's in the twilight of his career when the team really should be in rebuilding mode.

Well, we can probably expect some career numbers out of Amare... and pick & roll death with him and Nash all season.

You never know.... with those 2 and Hill and J-rich they may start running again.

i dont see the purpose of this for Phoenix.
they are throwing 22 million for an aging player who is on the downside of his career. why?
on a winning team; nash would be a huge benefit... but Phoenix isn't considered a winning team anymore. unless you call mediocrity and 1st round playoff exits 'winning'.
the flash and fun that was the phoenix suns is now a thing of the past.
it seems as if they are hanging onto Nash because he's their final piece of respectability in the league, and without him they will be lowly basement dwellers.

i rememeber them talking about slashing salaries and aiming to save money... this doesnt make sense whatsoever. wasnt their goal to make trades and rebuild?
Kerr is a walking contradiction. he holds on to nash for 2 more seasons... but i bet he ends up trading Amare for draft picks and up and comers next month.

^^^But then again the contract is only two years and Nash can still play at a elite level till then. Nash's playing style doesn't require a lot of athleticism so I think he's one of those type of players who can play till there 40.

Default Nash, close to 22mil extension and ESPN message board douchbaggery

So I was looking at ESPN....apparantly Nash is close to finding a deal, and then I found this gem on the message board

Quote:
If Nash were Black he'd be a 6th man/marginal starter in the NBA. I mean thats who Dallas gave him up for in Terry and Harris. And essentialy had more success.

Nash would be good shooter that had no interest in playing defense, or doing what it takes to win...So he would be a player on the level of Mo Cheeks. Good player, prob better than any PG you currently have but if the chance to upgrade comes he can easily be parted with.
I mean really...

Nash is the heart and soul of that team. Makes sense to me if the team hopes to be competitive and allow Kerr keep working as GM.
