Lakers Sources: Lakers, Celtics Hold Talks On Howard-Rondo Trade

Quote:
The Los Angeles Lakers have engaged in preliminary discussions with the Boston Celtics on a trade centering on Dwight Howard and Rajon Rondo, according to sources.

The potential deal has not gained any traction, and other significant pieces would need to be involved.

The Lakers have adamantly stated publicly and privately that they will not deal Howard before the Feb. 21 trade deadline.

Danny Ainge will not pull the trigger on a trade sending Rondo for Howard unless the Celtics receive assurance that Howard would re-sign with Boston in the offseason, according to a league source.

So what would happen to Nash and who would start at centre. I want Dwight in Boston cause he would get whipped. Side note does anyone know how many Lakers-Cletics trades have been done in NBA history? Can't imagine it being many.

gasol would start at center, as he should, finally. nash would play 20 minutes a game as his career dwindles to nothing thanks in large part to the bsurd franchise known as the losangelos lakers

Not that it matters or anything, but Howard said today that he is absolutely positive that he is not going to be traded before the deadline..

Yeah - Howard is not going to be traded, because he's not going to give any team any assurances.

Has there been a larger fall from grace in recent years in the NBA? This guy is becoming a bit of a joke.

He should commit to one year. Get Doc fired. Rinse. Repeat.

That fact that he's not playing good doesn't help either.

August 6, 2004: The Los Angeles Lakers traded Rick Fox, Gary Payton and a 2006 1st round draft pick (Rajon Rondo) to the Boston Celtics for Chucky Atkins, Jumaine Jones and Chris Mihm.
Rondo could've been a Laker?

Kind of funny sine he's averaging 16pts/12reb/2.3blk.

Not saying he's playing great by any stretch, but decent numbers.

A Kobe/Rondo backcourt would be pretty nasty. One guy born to pass... the other born to shoot. I don't want to have to root against my favourite guy though...

A healthy D12 on the Celts would scare the hell out of the Heat... but who knows when.. or if.. D12 will be healthy again. Or if he'll even stay.

This is just Jimmy Buss be a fuck'n moron. We just watched a half season of Kobe proving that no one else is going to hold the ball and your going to bring in one of the most ball centric point guards in the league. The whole Lakers org. is turning into a joke. Gets some vision you wanks.

Kobe and Rondo may dominate the ball.... but there's a BIG difference in what they look to do with it.
