Apparently Miami traded the pick so that they dont have to pay the 32nd so much as the 18th, Kinda makes sense i must say

Makes sense because Miami wants more money for FA. I don't know how much this saves them but they will take as much as they can get.

If anything now two Buckeyes are on the same NBA team who both made mistakes by leaving early(Cook & BJ Mullens).

It makes sense if Riley is trying to open up every last dime of cap space in order to create a "Big 3" or a "Big 2.75". That is, he's trying to sign 3 major FAs. Either Wade + 2 or 3 new ones.

It seems as though Riley is not looking to acquire FAs through S&Ts. He is planning to get them through outright signings with cap space. This is an interesting scenario. It could be genius or it could be total fail. If he signs players outright, he loses the birds rights on last year's players. It will be tough to build a bench without the birds rights. But this type of deal would look great in 2 years after the Heat have the chance to add complementary pieces through the future MLE and BAE signings and mid/late 1st round picks. Even without a bench, a big 3 could likely get to the playoffs next season. And once in the playoffs, the rotation gets tightened anyway. And they can probably trade Beasley somewhere for 2 vet bench players in the $2.5-3 mill range.

This is interesting.

For a guy in his 30s, you sure use a lot of exclamation marks.

Cook is a perfect piece to come off the bench for the Thunder who can handle the rock and knock down some j's. Plus they get the 18th pick? Bonus.

Look out if the Heat get someone to take on Beasley's contract and turn it into a couple of bench players. Riley is making a run at the basketball trifecta of Wade, Lebron and Bosh.

Cook will likely be Durants backup and be given limited minutes, as in if he hits a few shots he stays on for 15 mpg instead of 5-10. Hes a good player to have at the end of your bench because he has the capability to change a game even if that might only happen once every 10+ games.
