Clippers Simmons: Legit chance Chris Paul will not be back with Clippers

Also hearing there's a legit chance CP3 doesn't sign there now. It's wide-open. They'd have to hire a coach he likes, and even then...

Doesn't Dallas have a lot of money this summer?

LA is a dump?
Paul leaves Clippers, Dwight leaves Lakers, Kobe doesn't play anymore, no playoff teams?

Atlanta? I remember reading they would be a potential destination along with D12

If they can offload Marion's contract without taking much in return...they should have enough for 2 max deals.

Dirk expires next years and would surely sign a small contract so the team can get more pieces.

All I can do is pray...

I'm confused, Dallas has $77,412,050 tied up in salary and cap holds for 2013/14 - and that's before they decide what they are going to do with Beaubois/Mayo/Collison - any of those could increase that if they return (or reduce if they don't). I know Dallas will be players this summer but I don't know about 2 max FA's - doesn't make sense to me to basically waive the entire team and waive Marion before he exercises his ETO which I think has ramifications still for the cap. Would make more sense to trade some assets for a max player than the above.

If somebody who knows the cba better than I could jump in - I'm kinda curious now.

I'm also curious what you would quantify as 'small' for a contract for Dirk....

If Marion and mayo opt out and they renounce the other holds they only have approx $28 mil in committed salaries next year.

I also wonder if the pistons are in play for Paul?

How about Houston?

They sign Paul outright, and trade Lin for other pieces....??

I get that but I haven't seen a team do that - wipe the slate almost clean for 2 max players to add to a 3rd max player - then try to fill with super cheap vets. There's only one LBJ and I would think you would need a player like him to make it work and with the new CBA and Cuban's outright statement that he won't go over.......

I dunno, just doesn't sound right.

What if you sign the wrong max players....and are then hamstrung for years with no real way to make improvements or changes...

Houston definitely needs a PF more than a pg...I would think Harden and CP3 would get in each others way since both need the ball.....a lot....

I've always liked the idea of Gasol going there....can play big and small then.

i don't see any good fits for him with teams with cap space

maybe dallas, but if there is any team i would throw him on besides toronto it would be the knicks, melo and paul

i see him signing back with the clips

it would be interesting if howard and paul hooked up,

For some reason I have a feeling Howard/MPW gets traded to the Nets for Lopez and maybe Wallace. Would be nice for both teams, especially if the Lakers kept Pau.

However with Pringles there with Kobe and Pau, the Lakers are hooped imo.

I hope both Paul and Dwight leave LA and join together elsewhere. They'd be the only living legit competitors against the heat. And honestly neither franchise should have these two on their roster. Clippers suck no coach, weird GM, Blake being only real hope. LA is going downhill cause of GM/owner/coaches and have no cap space.

If he leaves LA,he'll end up a Knick some how. After Stoudemire signed in NY Paul toasted at Melo's wedding to them three playing together someday, don't take that lightly.

It's tricky because Amare costs alot and the Knicks already used the amnesty on Billups. They'll probably have to do some sort of multi team sign and trade(kinda like what brought Turkoglu to Toronto) seeing Felton,Shumpert and one of Chandler or Stoudemire outgoing, with Paul incoming. They also need to pay J.R. Smith too if he's apart of their future plans.
